chapter one ━━ pilot

In the dark hours of the night, two girls were getting ready for Halloween. Her best friend Jessica was wearing a sexy-nurse costume while Elodie wore a sexy-pirate costume.

As soon as Elodie arrived at Stanford, she met Jess, and the two of them became fast friends. Jess was like the embodiment of a white swan, with her bright, blonde curly hair and her kind, sweet nature that endeared her to everyone she met. In contrast, Elodie was more like the black swan, with her dark brunette hair and an air of mystery that seemed to surround her wherever she went. It was clear to anyone who knew her well that Elodie carried secrets deep within her that she was hesitant to share with anyone. Despite these differences, the two girls were inseparable, and their friendship blossomed into something truly special.

"Are you trying to make me sweep you away from Sam?" Elodie whistled, adjusting her hat.

Sam and Elodie arrived together to Stanford but he wasn't as socially as her. While she preferred to stay away from the libraries, Sam stayed in them almost every day. They were like anomalies, Sam had lived his entire life in the streets, knowing people every single day while Elodie have lived hers between books, her only friends.

When Elodie presented Sam to Jess, she knew instantly that they were soul mates, the ones she loved so dearly to read.

"Maybe." Jess joked, kissing Elodie's cheek.

"We were supposed to be there like fifteen minutes ago." Sam said entering the bedroom.

"Sam!" Jess gasped and Elodie stifled her laughter as she eyed Sam's costume.

"I'm a human cannonball." The boy said with chessy smile.

"And where's your costume?" Jess tilted her head, walking over Sam and kissing him sweetly.

"You know how I feel about Halloween." He rolled his eyes, picking Elodie's side as he sat on her bed.

"And? Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like total sluts no other can say anything about it." Elodie pointed at him with her eye brush. "And you are not going to ruin it."

At the bar, Sam was still without a costume and Jess and Elodie were with another girl. The four of them gathered around a small table as Jess poured a shot to everyone.

"So here's to Sam—" She raised her glass with a proud smile, "—and his awesome LSAT victory."

"All right, all right, it's not that big a deal." Sam let out a small laugh, his nervousness and his shyness showing up.

The four of them clinked glasses their glasses with proud smiles.

"Yeah, he acts all humble." Jess praised her boyfriend. "But he scored a one seventy-four."
