What was that?

Jedediah saw the light from the sun set down into nothingness. After a bit, a golden beam of light illuminates the whole museum. Jedediah feels his muscles unwind from plastic to skin and bones.

Octavius lowers his arm. He is on a mission to tell Jedediah. Even is that means rejection.

As soon as his feet were free, Octavius was off, determined to get to his one love.

Jedediah was about to head into his tent when he heard a comforting voice holler from far away.

"JED! WAIT! I HAVE TO SPEAK WITH YOU ABOUT SOMETHING! PLEASE! IT'S URGENT!" Octavius yells.

"Hold your horses buckaroo! I'll come with ya."
Jedediah said while blushing.

The Roman smiled. Oh god, Jedediah loved that smile more than anything. Everything about Oct made him want him more and more each day.

The cowboy smiled and laughed. That laugh almost made Octavius kiss him right then and there. He could listen to him for hours and never get bored. He loved and hated how Jedediah made him feel. Tonight, Oct was going to tell Jed how he really felt.

They stared into each others eyes, lost in them. Swimming deeper and deeper into the other man's irises. Jedediah's hand met Octavius's and that snapped them out of the trance. Their hands fell back at their sides.

"Anyway, I want to talk to you. Come and take a walk with me around the museum." Octavius said.

"Okay." Jedediah tentatively said, fearing the worst.

As they hopped out of Jed's exhibit, Jedediah noticed how nervous Oct was. They reached the ground and started walking.

"Something in your mind, Octopus?" Jedediah asked. "B-because if it's the thing about yesterday I-I swear it was an accident and I didn't try to do it and you know h-how the body works a-and I don't want to make you emba-"

"Shut up, Jed." Octavius jokingly said.

"Make me." Jed retorted obnoxiously.

"As you wish, Jedediah." Octavius responded. He stepped forward and grabbed Jedediah's waist and pulled him in. Octavius then kissed the cowboy, so soft yet sooooo longed for. They melted into the kiss. Jedediah held the back of Oct's head and ran his fingers through his hair. Their bodies were pressed up against each other. They could feel every part of eachother(if you know what I mean). When they finally pulled back from eachother, they were both blushing profusely.

"I-I'm sorry that was so sudden." Octavius said then looked down.

"That was fine, Octopus. I've been waiting for that for years."Jedediah whispered. Octavius' stomach knotted into a tightly knit ball.

"Me too, buckaroo" Oct replied, trying to hide the shaking in his voice.

Jed loved it when Oct used his own vocab. It felt like he really cared about what he says and pays attention to everything he says... and boy does Jedediah say a lot. Oct usually just stays silent and listens, taking in every word, letting them swirl in his head over and over. Oct could listen to Jed rant for hours and he could recite every word exactly how it was said.

"Oh... tough guy now? I see how it is..." Jed said mockingly. He was now walking around Octavius like a drill sergeant.

"As the leader of a whole empire, yes, I do believe that I am a 'tough guy', pardner." Oct said, now using every word he has heard Jed say because he knew it made him flustered. Using Jed's own words against him. This was going perfectly.

"Oh is that how it is now, 'Mr. Emperor-All-Mighty'?" Jedediah said, still mocking him.

"I said what I said, hombre." Oct replied smugly. Jed blushed.

"Maybe this will shut you up..." Jed said, tackling Oct to the ground in playful manner. They always would rough-house. It was their 'thing'. Jed was on top of Octavius. Octavius tried to get up, but Jed kept pushing him down. Instead of resisting, Oct managed to get one hand free and pushed Jed's head down- accidentally making them kiss again. This one was quick. Jed blushed and went in for another. Oct didn't resist. Soon it became Jed pinning Oct on the wall of the museum and making out. Every kiss was savoured and soon their tongues met and explored every part of the others mouths. This went on for a couple of minutes before the speaker went on and it was Larry's voice.

"10 minutes before sunrise. I repeat 10 minutes. Jed and Oct, I saw everything. Next time, get a room. Yeesh." *click*

Jed and Oct looked at eachother and laughed so hard.

"Come on, compadre, let's go." Jedediah said, extending his arm out to Octavius, who gladly took it. They ran, Octavius practically dragging Jedediah, as Oct is a veeeeerrrryyy fast runner.

As they looked at their exhibits, hand in hand, Jedediah looked at the Roman with awe. This man likes him? Naw, that's silly. A rich, generous God with a dirty, poor cowboy. That's bullshit.

"Hey, Oct, you don't, like, have to like me just because I like you... you know that right?" Jed sighed sadly.

Octavius perked up.

"Do my ears deceive me? Or is that absolute baloney I hear? Jedediah, I have loved you since we have come alive 45+ years ago. All of those wars hurt me deep down inside. I have always been longing for your attention towards me... even if it's in war or embarrassing myself for your amusement. I-" Octavius took a breath. "I love you, Jedediah. With my whole heart, and it hurts me to think that I don't. Promise me that you'll always love me back?"

Jedediah stepped closer to him and kissed his cheek.

"Alright, pardner." He whispered in his ear.

And with that, they climbed back up the wall using the grooves for support, hugged one last good bye, and posed for the day time.
