It was a beautiful night and the moon was high. all the animals were sleeping and the forest was quiet. suddenly a howl rang out of the forest and two warriors jumped up onto the ruined roof of a deserted building. The shadows concealed them from the hunters. Two wolves ran past a opening in the forest wall. The two warriors waited till they knew the wolves wouldn't hear them. They jumped down into a clearing next to the river.
"You can't stay with me my sweet," said a woman's voice, "It's not safe for the child of the Greek and Roman Gods." An ominous howl rang in the distance. Both people jumped and looked into the forest. Their ruse has been discovered. the moonlight fell onto he woman's face. the moonlight lit up her face. She had a triangular face, perfectly round, piercing blue eyes and long strawberry blonde hair.
"Let her go Aphrodite," whispered a mans voice, "We have to go." Aphrodite sighed, "Fine," she laid the wailing child in a casket at her feet in the river next to them, "We will find you." The current whisked the child away down the river. the two people turned round just as two wolves jumped from the forest surrounding them. A man walked from the tree behind them.
"You're finished." said the newcomer raising his hand. "Not quite." said Aphrodite, she raised her hand before the man could and a blinding white light appeared. When the light vanished Aphrodite and her partner had disappeared. "Damn it. We were so close." spat the newcomer. "Let's go back to base. " he turned and the wolves followed him out of the clearing.
