Lena's POV

I used to be a different person back then.But that one day shattered my life.I never thought my fate would have such a brutal twist.So it all began like this

"Lena if you aren't downstairs in 5 minutes.We'll leave you here.You can celebrate Christmas all alone" yelled my dad threateningly

"No Dad!! Just 5 minutes more.I promise" I yelled giving myself a final check in the mirror.I grabbed my bag & ran downstairs.I noticed mom wasn't there.She was always late.I looked at my dad.He looked away smiling.

"Like mother Like daughter" he mumbled laughing.

"Hey Iam not the one always late"I said defensively.Just then I noticed my mom hurry downstairs looking as beautiful as always.She gave me & my dad a sheepish grin.

"Sorry Iam late.Lets go!!" she said & dragged us out.There stood out butler Javier & our housekeeper Mona.They smiled at us politely.

"Have a nice weekend" They said in unison.We nodded politely.I hugged Mona.We were all set to leave.

We were going to celebrate Christmas with my bestfriend Sara & her family.They had invited us a month ago.They lived nearly 2 hours away.My dad was driving.I sat at the back.My mom sat next to my dad at the front.I pulled out my ipod & turned it on.I kept bobbing my head to the music.I saw a mountain.It looked mesmerising covered with snow.I couldn't take my eyes off.Suddenly I saw a golden eagle.This was a rare sight.I called out to my mom & dad.They turned to me.I pointed at the eagle.They were pleased to see such a beautiful bird.

Before we realised what had happened.A tanker came before our car & hit us.The car swirled the sight before my eyes became blur.I saw the glass break into shards.It hit my mom & dad.They were bleeding out.Suddenly the door gave away & I was thrown a

few feet away from the car.I hit my head against the road.My head began to bleed.The car flipped & landed with its roof on the ground.

I saw my moms white face from the window.I gave a scream of terror before I lost consciousness.

The last thing I heard was the murmering of the people gathered around & the siren of the ambulance.

I felt constant movement of people around me.I was transfered to the ambulance.I could hear muffled voices.Then my body went numb.

I was woken by sounds of someone sobbing.As I opened my eyes I felt harsh light on my sensitive eyes.As my eyes adjusted to the light.I saw the white walls of the hospital room & Sara sat besides me sobbing.

I gently squeezed her hand with the little strength that I had.She lifted her head & saw that Iam wide awake.She smiled & hugged me tight.

"You are awake!! Don't you dare leave me again."

I opened my mouth to reply but no words came out of my throat.I tried again but yet again I couldn't talk.Sara went to fetch the doctor.The doctor came in beaming.

"So you are awake! How do you feel?" he said

I tried again but couldn't reply.I felt scared.All that left my throat was a shriek of terror.The doctor injected some drug & I fell asleep again.

The last set of words that I heard were " She has lost her power of speech.We have to run some tests before we say anything else"

As I woke up I saw Sara.She looked disheartened.She sat besides me.Then I saw the doctor enter along with her mom & dad.

The doctor looked at me with sympathy & said "Lena I know you are going through a tough time but its my duty & I must tell you that your mom & dad are no more.Iam really sorry"

I felt like I was struck by lightning.I found it difficult to breath.Tears brimmed my eyes & I felt dazed.Sara hugged me tight & her mom sat beside me.I let all my emotions flow freely.I cried for what seemed like eternity.

Sara's mom looked at me & said

"You were always like my daughter.I have always loved you as much as Sara.From now on you are my daughter.We are your family."

Sara's dad nodded.I hugged Sara's mom.From then on they were my family.The sole reason of my existence.But my life was never the same.
