.....༻꧁✰𖦹✰꧂༺.....Caspian reached his cottage on the chalk cliffs by midday, he took the opportunity to fix the leak in his roof, since he wasn't working today. Caspian dragged the A-frame-ladder-that-falls-apart-the-millisecond-you-open-it up to the wall of the house, saying a quick prayer to the gods above before opening the ladder. The bolts scattered and the wood fell to the floor. Caspian dropped his head in annoyance, crouching down to pick up the bolts, throwing them into a pile on his porch. Caspian then dragged the wood away, throwing them on top of the bolts.
"I really need to replace this fucking ladder..." Caspian thought, rolling his eyes as he jumped to grip the edge of the roof, pulling himself up with a flat piece of metal, a screwdriver, and a handful new of bolts in a box. Caspian swung the box full of repair stuff onto roof, sitting on the edge of the roof as he screwed a metal plate in front of the hole, patching the leak until he could pick up more tiles.
Caspian hopped down from the roof, landing in a crouched position on the grass. He dumped the box full of repair stuff on the porch, dusting his hands off. Caspian then stared off the edge of the cliff, eyeing the deep blue sea with longing. It had been a while since he had been for a swim.
Caspian always longed to explore to the ocean, from the shallow shores to the deepest trenches. From what he knew, no one had explored the bottom of the ocean before, no one had found what resided on the lowest sea bed of Mother Ocean. Caspian wanted to see every mysterious creature of the water, hear all the songs of the salty deep, and touch the heart of the blue with a sense of freedom.
Caspian stood at the edge of the cliff, taking a deep breath, a breath of salty sea air. Caspian then slipped of his shoes, leaving them on the ground. Suddenly, he dived off the cliff, falling towards the waters embrace. The air rushed past his face, blowing brown hair around his face. Caspian hit the water, and a small splash followed, he had been doing this for so long, he had become really good at diving. He was lucky enough that there were no sharp rocks at the bottom of the cliffs that would impale him.
When he was fully submerged in the water, Caspian felt a tingling sensation all over his body. He closed his eyes as he sank deeper, letting the transformation take place. This happened to him every time he swam in the sea, and he never told a single living soul about it, not even Rika. Caspian new it wasn't human, he knew he was an outcast, and he knew if anyone found out he would we executed for being a freak.
The tingling stopped. Caspian now had webbed hands, it was the same story for his feet, toe nails now long and sharp. Patches of silvery blue scales littered his skin, going up and down his arms, to the tips of his fingers, and the ends of his fin-like feet, turning the webbing blue on his hands and feet. Caspian's eyes were still the brilliant shade of sapphire blue that they were before, except he had slits for pupils. His nails had become slightly sharpened. The ends of his hair had become a tone of aquamarine, and two of his teeth had elongated into sharp fangs. His ears had been elongated, stemming off into webbed ones. Gills had grown on both sides of his neck, surrounded in the same silver-blue scales that peppered his body.
Caspian opened his eyes and smiled a small smile, when he was like this, he felt home. He took a sharp breath, water coming in through his lungs, and going out through his gills. Caspian's swam forward, running his fingers along the coral that lined the rocks in this area. He swam quickly around the coral reef, weaving in and out of the groups of tropical fish. Caspian moved around the ocean next to the cliff, making his way towards the docks. He had done this a thousand times, he just couldn't be spotted...
