Ryan walked around the library in the town of Racata. Racata is a small town of the border of Ach'na islands.

"Where is it?" He searched the shelves and sighed.

A man in the shadows smirked and walks out."You are the boy, aren't you?"

Ryan jumps back and leaned on the shelves."Who? Me?"

The shadowed man laughed slightly."Who else is here? Yea you."

Ryan looked at him with a confused look."What do you mean by 'The boy'?"

"So she hasn't told you yet has she?" The shadowed man smirked.

"Told me what?" Ryan balled his fist

"Ha ha you will find out....when the time comes." The shadowed man walks away.

"Wait." Ryan grabbed the man's coat."Who are you?"

The shadowed man lowered his head more."Jeremiah, but don't worry about it too much." He pulled away and walked out.

Ryan sat in a chair in front of a computer and sorted his thoughts."What does he mean? And what does my mother have to do with this?"

Ryan looked again and found the book. On the book was a purple gem and The Sorcerer's Curse written on the top. He smiled and took it to the front.

"Card please." The librarian said as she looked up from her book.

Ryan pulled out his card

The librarian took the card and scanned it."The Sorcerer's Curse? You studying something?"

"Yea." He rubbed the back of his head. "Kinda, sorta in a way." He smiled and handed her the book.

"Hmm OK." She scanned the book and handed it to him."Well have a nice day."

"Yes Ma'am, you too." He waved and walked out. "Now is the rumors true, hmm." He flipped through the pages. He stopped at a picture of his mother and a strange man. His eyes widened and he dropped the book and backed up to the wall.

Marissa walked around the corner and saw Ryan leaning on the wall with a book on the ground. She walked to him with a worried look on her face."You OK?" She picked up the book and walked to him.

Ryan ignored her, his heart rate sped up and his breath shortened. How can it be? How is she.....he blacked out.

Marissa caught him and laid him on the ground. She pulled out her phone and dialed 9-1-1. The phone rang.

"Hello this is 9-1-1 what is your emergency?" The woman at the phone asked.

"Uh yes a guy just blacked out on the side walk. Can you send an ambulance, please." Marissa checked Ryan's pulse and noticed a symbol on his hand."What is that?"

Ryan slowly woke up."W...where am I?"

"Sir can you state your name and date of birth?" A nurse asks him as she shined a light in his eye.

"Yea, it's Ryan Steinberg, May 2nd, 1988." He tried to look around."Where am i going?"

"OK it was a panic attack he will be fine." The nurse looked at him."When did you get that?" She asked pointing at his hand.

"Had it since i can remember." He rubbed his head."Who helped me?"

The nurse pointed at Marissa."She did."

Marissa smiled and waved."Yea i was asking if you were alright and you fell. So I caught you and called for an ambulance."

"Where is it?" Ryan started to panic.

"This?" She held out a book."This was on the ground in front of you."

He took the book."Thanks." He smiled and settled.

"So uh gonna explain what happened? I mean like you just panicked and blacked out." Marissa looked down."Oh never mind I am sorry. Just being myself, putting my nose in others business."

"Oh it is fine." He smiled."I was just a moment of shock. I saw a picture and thought it was someone I knew. Don't worry about it. It was nothing." He looked at her."I am Ryan by the way and you are?"

"Marissa." She smiled and looked at him."So what is that book about?"

"Well it is about this myth on a curse." Ryan slightly frowned when he thought about the picture of his mother.

"Ooh sounds interesting." She laughed a little."I may read it one day."

Ryan laughed and laid back on the bed of the ambulance."Do i have to go to the hospital? I mean i feel fine."

The nurse frowned."No but it is recommended."

Ryan smiled."Can you drop me off at the apartments then."

The nurse sighed."Fine. Frank to the apartments please." The ambulance turned down the street. The nurse opened the doors and Ryan stepped out."Thank you for your concern." He walked to the sidewalk. Marissa walked out and the ambulance sped away."And I guess I owe you. How does coffee sound?" Ryan said as he watched the ambulance drive away.

"Ooh coffee sounds great." She smiled.

"OK let me go do something first." He walked into his apartment and opened the doors."You wanna come in?"

Marissa smiled and walked to the door."Sure." She walked in his apartment.

"Sorry about the mess. Didn't expect any company." He walked into his room.

"It is OK." She sat down on the couch."It is quite cozy."

"Thanks." He walked out wearing a Blue t-shirt and a pair of jeans."OK. I am ready now." he smiled and sat on the couch. "So why did you do it?"

"Do what?" She looked at him and tilted her head.

"Help me." He looked down."Someone else probably would've left me there."

"No. No they wouldn't." She laughed."Why would anyone do that?"

"I don't know. I guess that there are bad people out there." Ryan shrugged.

"Oh Yeah there are bad people out there." She laughed a little.

"Well let's get that coffee I owe you." Ryan got up and smiled.
