If there's a dream then there's a nightmare

Chapter 1

Mateo's POV
    It felt nice to finally have some peace now that the Nightmare King is defeated but I'm still saddened about Z-blob's sacrifice, he was my creation, my first creation! Yet he meant a lot to me.

But all is well now, my friends are safe and so is our town, though Izzie won't leave me alone on who I like which she figured it out that I only had a small crush on Zoey so now she's trying to find someone up to my interest.

I didn't know if I was okay with it or not, because Zoey keeps asking people about their interests to see if I would get along with anybody but she hasn't found anyone... yet, I don't know how long she'll keep this up for.

We were in school at a hallway just talking with Zoey and Logan, till Cooper came up to us, "Guys! Did you hear we are getting new kids in this school? Because I did!" Cooper exclaimed, Izzie then questioned, "Uh no? Cooper are you sure we are getting new kids? If so, when?"

"Today! Mr.Oswald told me!" Cooper explained, that got me a bit nervous but it did get Izzie excited, that's when we heard the entrance doors open, four kids started walking down the hall, so they're the new kids?

The first one had blonde hair and blue eyes, he wore a white shirt with a blue jacket on and a small green scarf around his neck, he had ripped jeans with red shoes on.

The second person had brown hair and green eyes, he had a green and white leather jacket with a black T-shirt underneath it, he had black jeans and green shoes.

The third guy had black hair but a white bandanna around his head and brown eyes, he had a white shirt with a fire symbol on it, he had black jeans and red shoes.

And finally the fourth guy, he had black hair with white faded tips and he had brown eyes, he had a black turtleneck on but with no sleeves and a jacket half way on so it showed his shoulders, he had baggy jeans and green shoes.

I was more impressed with the fourth guy, he looked so proud of himself but he didn't seem to show it, he looked so... nice and handsome... WAIT NO MATEO THEY ARE NEW KIDS YOU CANT JUST ALREADY HAVE FEELINGS FOR ONE OF THEM!

Izzie then approached them, "Hi I'm Izzie, Welcome to our school! Can I get your names?" The group smiled back at her, the fourth guy introduced themselves, "The names Shade, the blonde guy is Tommy, the brown haired is Elan, and black haired guy is Nick, we're the new kids.."

Izzie brought the new kids to our group, "Ok so, blonde boy is Cooper, black hair dude is Logan, the girl is Zoey, and last but not least, my brother Mateo!" Izzie explained, "N-nice to meet you guys.." I said, I got nervous.

Nick chuckled, "hey Tom, wanna race outside? I bet I can beat you since I'm older!" He exclaimed, Tommy just gave him the 'Are you serious' face, "Mate, I beat like 20 times before, don't challenge me, I may be a few months younger but I can still beat you!"

Tommy had a British accent that honestly surprised me, "s-so which class do you have next, S-Shade?" I asked, dammit now Izzie might get the idea, "Oh I have science next.." Shade responded.

"O-Oh I guess you and I are in the same class! I-" "Cool now I don't just have Cooper and Mateo in that class now!" Logan interrupted, "Nice, we can head to class now... right?" Elan questioned, "yeah we can." Cooper replied.

At night

I was getting ready to go to bed until Izzie spoke, "So and the new kid Shade~" Izzie started, "Stop it Izzie! I'm not inlove, I just met him!" I argued while blushing, "Sure sure, just wait till what the others have to say" Izzie said, that's when I closed my eyes.

I opened my eyes to be in the dream world, I got out of my bed and saw the others just chatting, "hey guys!" I said, they all looked over at me while smirking, "so Teo, we all noticed something about you~ you got a little crush on someone?" Zoey started, I went red again.

"No I'm not! I swear, I was just uh nervous! Y-yeah nervous!" I argued, "C'mon Mateo, we know you-" "Guys look!" Izzie interrupted Logan, we all looked over to see a black dragon flying over us but as we kept watching we saw black clouds.

We were all in shock, we kept the Nightmare King away, imprisoned! A door appeared and opened, "Well, I guess our adventure never ends!" Cooper said, on cue we all went through the door.

We saw the place the same as any other dream but this one... there's barely anything and it's colors were gone, that's when we heard shouting, "AAAAHHH WHO ARE YOU?!?!"

We ran towards the shouting, but hid in a nearby bush and we saw a dreamer and this person who had this mask with blue lining of a sad face, while the rest of their body was completely black, "I am saddened! Your own sadness should be the only emotion that you should feel!" They shouted and created these clouds that were coming after the dreamer.

We didn't know who this was or what they wanted, but then this group came up, "not this time, Griever! We're back, and stronger than before!" One of them shouted.

"You four again?! Why can't you just show sadness!" Griever shouted, he then made his dark clouds but with a body and started attacking the group, but the group looked ready to fight and didn't budge on a word Griever said.

But one of them dodged all the cloud creatures and headed straight to Griever, that scared me and the others, "Look who it is, it's S... why can't you just only feel sadness, you've suffered, you've been in pain... just why!" Griever shouted.

"Because it's not only just sadness, we all have other emotions for a reason!" S shouted back, Griever tried to attack them but S took out an axe and slammed it on the ground and made cracks on the ground.

As I watched it all happen, it felt like watching a action movie, it was all too fascinating to watch, "Teo!" Logan shouted, I looked over at him, "We gotta go, the group is leaving!" Logan explained, the group was leaving.

So we all left but before I made it out, I felt a sting on my back but it didn't matter since I just got out of the dreamer's world, and it had been saved by the new group of people we saw.

The next day in the waking world

I felt different, like upset and depressed at the same time, "Mateo!" Lizzy shouted, I was at the entrance doors of the school, "What, Izzy? You're so loud! God.. let's just go." I responded, what was up with me?! I can control my body but not my mouth.

I didn't mean to say that to her! It's like I can't control my words, something is wrong with me?! I think it was that sting that I felt from the dream world last night.. I thought I was walking towards my friends with Izzy but instead I walked away from them!

I can't even control my body anymore! What was that sting on my back anyways! My emotions are all over the place too, wait is that a wall? Wait am I going to hit a wa-

Dream world

I woke up in the dream world... I DID HIT A WALL! I looked around and saw our landing but I need to know why I couldn't control my body, but I looked over my shoulder and saw a black marking, I freaked out.

I looked at my arm and it had black marks on it, it was slowly spreading to my body, how did I get this stuff on me? Wait... there's only one guy I know who knows about this black stuff that's spreading around my body..

I took out the compass that helps track people, "where is... Night Hunter..." I said, the compass then led to a direction and I followed it, I needed to find him! Even if it means trusting him..

A few minutes later

I wasn't expecting the compass to lead me to a cabin in the dream forest, I thought it would be at the Nightmare King's place or something but this is a nice and quiet place.

I looked at the cabin and it looked decent, I looked at myself again and the black stuff spread even more, it was almost covering my arm and was spreading to my chest.

I sighed, I was rethinking my choices and what could happen if I let this spread around my body, it would control me and make me do things I didn't like, so I knocked on the door of the cabin, that's when I heard footsteps and I saw the door open.

"Hello?"
