Tears fell out of Ni-ki's eyes as he messed up his hair. Why did this happen to him ?
He stared at the photo frame on his study table and sadly chuckled while looking at him. The pic was of him and his best friend, Park Sunoo. Sunoo the first ever person he fell in love. they knew each other from childhood cause apparently Sunoo's parents, Park Jongseong and Jungwon where best friends with Ni-Ki's Parents, Lee Heeseung and Sim no Lee Jaeyun.
Life was all perfect for him until he heard the news of his best friend's newly found crush on one of their classmate, Myung Jaehyun The bubbly boy who was famous among other students.
Ni-ki was 8 year old when he was adopted by the couple. He still remembers how careful and fond they were of him, they still are. Their love for Ni-Ki never died. It was fascinating how Ni-Ki and Sunoo who were familiar with each other since the orphanage were adopted by couples of same friend group which helped them to never fell apart.
He wiped his tears as he noticed the time, 8:15 am. He better wash his face and get ready for his meet up with his best friend cause who even wants to get scolding.
It was a bit weird for Ni-Ki to call his parents as Dad and Appa because they were still young. Being at the age of 34 and 35.
He quickly washed his face and took a bath before completing his morning routine and going downstairs. He wore his usual Baggy jeans with a black sweatshirt, his style was totally similar to that of Jaeyun.
"Good morning Jae" Ni-ki spoke with a smile as he gave hug to the male who was eating strawberries. "Morning kiddo" Jaeyun replied as he ruffled Ni-Ki's hair while passing him the strawberries. "I'm always forgotten" Heeseung sighed as he flipped the pancake over the stove making ni-ki glance at him. "He litreally cooks once in a while and acts as if he does all the work" the youngest spoke making Heeseung frown at him.
"Wait you appa's boy listen here, it's me who always cooks breakfast" Heeseung pointed to himself but Ni-Ki just ignored it and ate the pancakes which were given to him. "Alright dear husband stop being sulky and eat fast or we will be late for our date" Jaeyun spoke making Heeseung pout his lips a bit. "Kiss first"
"Gross, it's litreally my age to go for dates and look at you both" Ni-Ki spoke and flinched when he received a slap on the back of his head. "Shut up not my fault if you don't have guts to confess to Sunoo.
Ni-ki rolled his eyes as he eyed the couple but smiled as hoe adorable they looked, Ni-ki never saw their love changes. They were still same as how he saw 10 years ago.
Now Ni-Ki wonders how must their love and life would be before they met him. Nevertheless he bid his goodbyes to both the males before going to the bus stop to meet his best friend.
9:03 am
Ni-ki's heart fluttered as he saw his best friend waving at him with that bright smile of his. Sunoo's presence was just as a sunshine as he never failed to light up Ni-ki's world and mood. Seeing that smile seems as if all his worries disappeared into Thin air. "Hey" Sunoo called out and Ni-Ki watched the road before running and crossing it over to reach for the elder male.
"Sunoo hyung" Ni-ki panted as he held on the shorter's shoulder while catching his breathe. "Took you long enough giant head" Sunoo spoke making Ni-ki roll his eyes. "Just Jae and Seung teasing me since morning" Ni-ki replied making Sunoo let out a laugh. "They are cool"
"That they are" Ni-ki spoke with a smile, another thought struck him. Were they like this in their college life too ? Ni-ki was so curious suddenly that he forgot Sunoo was there with him. "Come on we need to catch the bus too" He spoke as he dragged the younger to the bus stop. They waited for a few minutes while talking about different stuffs until their bus was finally there.
they boarded the bus before paying for it and catching their seats. "Will it be long?" Ni-ki asked and Sunoo nodded. "It's on the other side of the city so it will take long. you can sleep if you want" Sunoo suggested and Ni-Ki nodded his head a she plugged on his airpods before drifting to sleep.
Eventually Sunoo got tired too and slept around after 10 minutes. They didn't have to worry as their stop was the last one.
10:00 am
After half an hour they reached their destination and got out of the bus. "Oh this seems kind of different from the modern side?" Ni-ki asked and Sunoo nodded. "But it is beautiful right ? the air seems cleared this side too"
"Lol why are most of the people wearing skinny type clothes?" Sunoo asked and Ni-ki seemed confused too. "Dude we wanted to come to college from different path today but why does it seems like we came in another world? " Ni-ki asked as he frowned and looked at his surroundings.
"People still use that phone? Damn" Sunoo commented and pointed towards a person and ni-ki was quick to look at that way. "Something doesn't feel nice" Ni-ki mumbled as he held sunoo's hands and dragged him to a nearby shop.
"Hi do you have Doritos? " Ni-ki questioned but the shop keeper just looked at hik awkwardly. "Uh what? " The male asked as he didn't knew what it was. "Forget it can you tell the date and year? " Ni-ki again Questioned and Sunoo felt weird because of it. "Why would you ask that? " Sunoo whispered but ni-ki just shushed him.
"Uhm it's 14 September 2007" The shop keeper said making both the males. "What in the actual hell?" Sunoo shouted as ni-ki quickly apologized and dragged him out side. "Its true look the surroundings and everything changed. We time slipped" Ni-ki spoke and sunoo just look at him in disbelief.
"We need to confirm it" The younger spoke as he recalled the events "wait today U.S. General Peter Pace, outgoing chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, acknowledged that mistakes were made during the war." Ni-ki spoke and sunoo nodded. "Yeah we were taught about that" Sunoo spoke but groaned when he received a flick on his forehead.
"Let's check the latest daily news in some shop" Ni-ki suggested and the two nodded as they went and checked on one of the store. Their hands trembled as the same news showcased on the television screen.
"No way" Sunoo mumbled ad he stepped back and ni-ki couldn't believe it either. How did this even happen? Ni-ki thought to himself as many questions were raised. He widened his eyes as he realised.
How would there life be when they were teens?
Oh shit.
But wait.
"That means our parents are in college and are teenagers ?" Ni-ki yelled out.
