CHAPTER 5

A week later, Jeongguk sat in his parent's house with his family as the lawyer read his father's will. After laying Ju-won to rest next to his mother, everything had been hectic. He didn't expect it to be easier and it was not. Over the week, he went through different emotions and moods from being sad to angry to being quiet. He felt horrible when he had an angry burst at Jimin who stood before him wide-eyed. When he realized what he had done, he immediately pulled Jimin in his arms and whispered his apologies.

Jeongguk looked at Namjoon who was beginning to look normal since he came back. Namjoon tapped his hand twice before he held it tightly. He felt sorry for leaving his hyung alone to go find comfort in his boyfriend. He would make it up for his brother.

As the lawyer read the will, Jeongguk was not shocked to hear that his father wanted him to take over Jeon Entertainment and that his father's shares would be divided equally between him and Namjoon. What shocked him was learning his father had shares in Swift Elite Air and they were all to be transferred to him. When did that happen? Nobody in Jimin's family said a thing about it.

When the lawyer finished reading and making them sign all the necessary paperwork, he left the Jeon mansion. Jeongguk remained seated his mind running like crazy. Namjoon was the first one to break the silence.

"Swift Elite Air? Isn't that Jimin's grandfather's airline? Why did dad have shares there?"

"I don't know hyung. I just found out now too."

"Your father was quite a mysterious man. I'm not sure why he never told anyone of us about it." Ara said as she stood up, "are you staying for lunch?"
"Not today, I have a lunch appointment. I'll visit another time." Jeongguk said as he stood up too. Of course the lunch appointment he had was with Jimin but he wasn't going to tell them that. "Hyung, can you set sometime for me over the weekend? There's something I want to discuss with you."

"When are you going to the company?"

"I will be there on Monday. Iseul has already picked up the pending work dad was working on and I am almost done with it."

"Alright. We are going out tonight, if you feel up to it we'll be at our favorite bar."

"I'll tell you in the evening if I'll be able to make it." They both headed out and to their respective cars.

When Jeongguk got to their shared home, he found Jimin lazing on the couch while watching a drama. He headed upstairs to change into comfortable clothes. He then went downstairs to the kitchen, washed his hands and picked some snacks and drinks for them and joined Jimin in the living room. Jimin moved to make room for him and he went behind his boyfriend pulling him in his arms.

"How was it?" Jimin asked in a soft tone. Jeongguk sighed then kissed Jimin on his neck breathing in the scent of citrus.
"Just like we expected. I will be taking over Jeon Entertainment." Jimin turned in his arms and looked at him in the eyes.
"I know it was sooner than you expected but you've got this jagiya. We'll be there for you through this transition." Jeongguk couldn't say anything so he held on to the love of his life tightly. They went quiet fo a while just basking in each others warmth.
"Did you know dad had shares at Swift Wings?"
"No."
"And they are the only shares that are solely mine."
"What have they been cooking behind our backs?" Jeongguk could only let out a heavy sigh. Soon they both dozed off without meaning to.
Jeongguk stretched as he came to and realized he was alone on the couch. He patted on where
Jimin had been and noted it was still warm. He wondered where his cute little boyfriend had gone. He stretched again and sat up. He looked at the clock and was surprised to see three hours had gone by. That was the longest nap he's had since his father passed. He stood up and nearly fell in shock to see his boyfriend standing by the stairs looking directly at him. He had a look Jeongguk couldn't quite decipher.

"Baby," he called softly as he approached Jimin slowly.
"Mmh."
"Are you okay?" When he was a few steps from Jimin, he noted the dried tears.
"I miss papa." Jimin said in a tiny voice. Jeongguk gulped hard. How could he have neglected Jimin like that? His boyfriend had to be hurting too from the loss of his father. After Ju-Won let them know he knew about their relationship, Jimin made sure to grab visit him every day he was at the company. It had become tradition to both of them to seek the other out. He remembers Jimin talking animatedly about his dad.

"Yah Jeonggukie, I'm sending your little boyfriend to you. He won't stop whining about missing you." Ju-Won had once called to tell him. He had spoken fondly of Jimin. The conversation before that made his heart swell.
"Tell Jiminie I am not overworking you. I swear both of you are cut from the same cloth."
"What did he say?" He had asked curiously.
"He scolded me saying you don't even get time to video call him. He was all cute and intimidating. If I knew he was going to be my son in law in the future, I would not have chosen him as a trainee." Ju-Won complained.

"Papa!"  Jeongguk heard in the background. They were together and that made him smile.
"What? It's the truth. You trouble me all the time about Jeongguk, one might think he is not my son." There was some seconds of silence. "Stop pouting. Oh my gosh, this kid! Fine you can promote your single in the States."
Jeongguk remembers laughing so hard he nearly missed Jimin saying 'see you soon Ggukie'. His boyfriend had bested his dad. His thoughts came back to the present as he watched Jimin cry silently.

"Come here." He pulled Jimin in his arms and hugged him tightly while rubbing his back. Jimin's hard sobs made his heart twist in pain.
"I'm so sorry Ggukie." Jimin whispered between sobs. Jeongguk wiped some of his stray tears and held on.
"Let it all out baby. I'm here." He continued assuring Jimin until he calmed down. They sat on the stairs as he wiped Jimin's tears.
"I really tried to be strong for you."
"I know my love. And I love you so much for that."
"He didn't get to see me propose to you. We planned so meticulously for it. We had so many family trips prepared." Jimin whispered solemnly. Jeongguk was shocked to hear about the proposal and chose not to ask anything about it, clearly he wasn't meant to hear it. His boyfriend was in a state of duress and wasn't thinking clearly.

"How about we go out with the hyungs and just have fun tonight." He suggested.
"I don't know." Jimin sighed.
"I want to get drunk tonight and not think about anything. Tomorrow we can stay in and we can talk about dad all we want."
"I like that."
"Then let's shower."

That night they got drunk and danced to their hearts content. A few times they both got lost in each other and couldn't resist touching which didn't go unnoticed by Namjoon and the other members. By the end of the night, a very sober and pissed Namjoon pushed them in the car and asked the driver to take them home. Both of them were drunk and did not know the storm that was brewing.
