Julia's POV
I sighed as my dance instructor told me repeat the dance for what? The millionth time, and it was obvious my dance partner was getting tired too, his pale skin with his permanent blush. His hair hung low in a graceful way. Oh how I swoon- <Get out your thoughts Julia!> I think to myself as I constantly repeat the spin, failing to let my dress flow perfectly for the upcoming tournament. "Are you okay?" I looked up as Jacopo looked at me with utter concern "You seem a little stressed, and you're gripping my hand a lot harder than usual." He said while looking into my eyes. "I'm fine, thank you for your concern Jacopo" I smiled as I feel a small rush of heat coming onto my face. We continued to practice, over and over until finally. My twirl was perfect, everything else had been practiced to perfection. We had finally perfected every single dance. "Well don'tcha look happy" Jacopo smiled, I noticed I had a smile on my face "Oh yeah absolutely, we've been working on this for how long? Oh thats right! A couple of hours. On the same stupid part of this dance!" I laughed
Nothing happened afterwards. I drove home, got home and changed. If I'll be real those dresses I had to wear to dance were HELLA uncomfortable. Like damn- They're itchy, the lining sometimes scratches you, and the rhinestones and stuff just hurt! I love wearing stuff like that though, it makes me feel just amazingly pretty. I wore shorts and some random top and I PASSED out right away. I didn't wake up the next day until around... "NINE ALREADY?!" I yelled as I rushed to get ready. I messily did my make up, and put on a simple practice skirt before running down to my car, and I'll be honest, I was definitely speeding, but my instructor was gonna KILL me if she finds out I'm late. I parked my car and I swear I started leaping from step to step just to get into the studio on time.
Today was the last day we could practice before the tournament. We were gonna revise and run through every single dance, which included Waltz, Cha Cha, Quick Step, Jive, Samba, Paso Doble, Tango, Vietnamese Waltz Rumba, and Foxtrot. Oh wow that's quite a lot of dances. All of these are gonna take quite a while. I mean NINE dances? Seriously, are we in a musical or something? Ugh whatever. Lets just get this practice started.
I walked up and there I saw Jacopo,
He wasn't wearing anything fancy, but he still looked amazing. He wore grey sweats and a black t-shirt. The shirt was on the tighter end, it nicely fit his slim and masculine body. I put my stuff down into a corner and I approached him. I had always hated the start. It was always awkward. I mean c'mon imagine having to meet everyday and constantly hold someones waist and torso. He must really hate it, I know I would. Our dance instructor came in and she started telling us to go through every dance in order. We started dancing. We were in that studio for how long? I really wouldn't know. Well I would, the answer is 3 hours. My legs hurt and my back felt half dead. I was ready to just pass on, but my competition was in 3 days. I needed to win this one, or at least get podium so I can support myself for the next month and a half, that was just before my band would start concerts and gaining money.I basically only slept for the days, but I made sure to keep my body stretched so I wouldn't rip or hurt anything in my body. I called my band "Lurk" and asked them to come watch my competition, and so they did. They held a board to show support for me and Jacopo, and they had flowers, which were obviously for me. I nervously peeked outside the curtain, terrified by the crown when suddenly I look at Jacopo who is as calm as ever "Wow, no stage fright at all? Must be an expert!" I laugh "Nah I was just in theatre all of middle and high school" he responded before he brushed himself off. He was wearing a beautifully tailored suit that was designed to let him move freely. I was wearing a dark blue frilly dress with rhinestones. I just stood there terrified and nervous that I'd fail and I'd mess up. But Jacopo tried his best to cheer me up. He even gave me a hug before our turn came. We walked out and my dressed flowed under me gracefully. My heart was pounding but I kept calm. I took Jacopo's hand and we started the Waltz. I tried my best to perfect it. And I did it. It was perfect. I had a small smile before moving onto the Cha Cha and every other dance. We did it. We perfected and performed every dance. I had so much happiness inside me just ready to burst. We rushed backstage and then we hugged, you could tell this was one of our happiest moments together. I laughed and smiled, and I felt so many emotions. I honestly just wanted to stay this way forever. We were told that we could change and then head to the crowd to watch the rest of the show. Me and Jacopo parted, he went to his group of friends and I hung out with mine. Mika and Ry rushed in to give me a hug, and after they had finished Ellie gave me one. Brynne just stayed back and congratulated me. We stayed and watched the rest of the show. My eyes couldn't help but to wander and look at Jacopo who was sitting there laughing with the rest of his friends. I flushed before I quickly and discretely looked up back up at the show. All the other partcipants were equally as amazing. They were all graceful, but I had a feeling. I had a feeling that we had won this tournament. I watched the whole show before they started announcing the winners. "And the winner is..."
