It had been a good hour of lapdancing for guys, swinging and grinding on the pole. I had worked up the sweat  a bit and was thirsty. I walked over to the bar to see my friend ray. He was my only friend I guess. I remember when i first met ray, i was super head over hills in love with him he was so hansome and lovely. I flirted non stop, droping so many hints: but he never flirted back or anything, until one day he told me he was gay. I felt so silly and i cried becasue i was kinda embarrased and i thought he wouldnt wanna spend time together anymore, but Ray being amazing as ever he said it was fine and he understood and we could still be friends. Ever since then me and him have been good friends.

He was always telling me stories of him growing up in Florida and how he loved the weather and always skinny dipped with his college friends in the neighbors pool. He sounded like he had a fun child hood. Half way through college he came out to his parents, they couldn't accept the fact their son was gay, they stopped his college funds etc, . He had no further money to pay the rest of college so he moved here, L.A.

"So you see that new guy" ray asked, "new guy" I questioned and looked over to where ray was pointing, he was slim and slender and had dirty blonde hair that was styled but seemed like it was neck length. He was wearing a suit with his shirt untucked. "yeah he's been coming here for almost two weeks now, I guess its the first time you seen him as damn when you come out he's eyes are locked on you"

I laughed "no way your pulling my leg, he would of asked for me or at least get my attention somehow". I turned my head to ray who wasn't laughing and was giving me a serious face.

"trust me Hun, he's been staring". I looked over at him again and he just winked, it sent shivers down my spine. " maybe he only wants one thing.." I said a little nervously. " no way...but you never know, but if he does I'm not letting that happening ". Ray gave me a half smile, he knew that I wasn't into sleeping with people for money or at least a relationship, not after Dylan. "oh well let him stare, doesn't bother me" I said as I shrugged. Me and Ray both watched him closely as he chatted amongst the other men there.

"Boy oh boy if I was to touch that danm jawline, i'd ask him to kiss my finger better because there would be one deep paper cut" ray said, we both giggled, maybe a little too loud as the new guy looked in our direction and smiled. His eyes locked with mine, blue as the ocean his eyes stood out the most. I looked back, i felt shivers down my spine..he smirked and winked at me, i shyly smiled back and faced ray.

Ray looked me up and down and smiled and nodded his head, "i think where gonna need a mop and bucket over here" he took a breath and smirked "stacy has seemed to make a spilledge over here" emphising the word spillage. "Shushhhh" i half shouted/whispered wacking his arm. He just laughed and i couldnt help but smirk my self a little. "so any plans for the weekend?" i asked "yea my sister is coming down to visit" ray hesitated for a second "you can join us if you like". I thought about it, i knew ray didnt see his sister as much, they was quite close she was always there for him, she had her own place in New york as she had something to do with publishing. "nah i don't wanna intrude or anything". He raised an eyebrow "you know like you hardly see you're sister and what time you have together spend it preciuosly". Ray shrugged his shoulders in responce but understood what i meant. "Yeah, i guess your right" he replied.

"Anyways" i said with a sigh, "i better get back to work", ray nooded "same here, see ya later girly" "see ya ray, ill text after my shift" i said while walking away. "dont forget to text when your home" he half shouted, i nodded and walked towards backstage to freshen up. I loved that about ray, he'd always make me text him when i came home as he knew i lived in a beat up area. He was kinda over protective, but in a good way though, he knows my past so he always made sure that guys i talked to were good enough.

*5 hours later*

My shift had finally ended and I had made a good enough amount in tips, well good enough to pay this months rent and a weeks food. I packed my bag and headed out the back. vastly, i walked round the dark corner and onto the busy streets, which was when I felt the wetness patter my head.

"Great, fucking great" i said as I stomped repeatedly on the wet concrete like a five year old. I honestly loved the rain, but not now, i wasn't in the mood to get completely drenched walking to my apartment half a mile away. I sighed, walking in the direction towards home.

"hey" a deep voice came from behind me with a following pat on the shoulder. I spun on me heel to come face to face with the the guy who wouldn't stop staring at me. He took me by a sudden as I tripped and felt his strong arms catch me. i stared into his piercing blue eyes as his eyes locked into mine for a moment. he let go as a stood in front of him still staring.

" uh sorry" I stuttered out. He blinked a few times before he said "its fine honest... i couldn't help but see that you seemed frustrated by the rain and well spending hours dancing you must be exhausted... I was wondering if you wanted a ride home?"

I took a step back, "oh no, I'm sorry that must seem creepy for an complete stranger to ask you if you want a ride home but I swear I'm not like that" he trailed off.

I bit my lip. "uh thank you but its fine I'm used to it"
