After Anton said goodbye to Ellie after she goes back to her Verse (Ending of Volume 1), he decided to go back and take a seat on a bench. He was relieved to see the cherry blossoms beside him blossom once again. The Shadow Villain Arc has been forced to retreat and end their terror after Ellie frees Erin's soul.
Captain Dom left with the other 3 Officers back to the Winged Operation HQ. Anton looked and placed his hand under a falling blossom. Then when it landed on him, a blue light popped up from the blossom that touched him.
Anton almost hit it with his R8 but it dodged and just floated there. He realized that is was friendly. The light ball rotated around him while making squeaking noises.
"Hey, your actually kinda cute. What's your name little guy?" He asked
The little blue light went on the dust and wrote JAMES on it.
"Alright, James. What are you?" Anton asked again.
The blue little light just spun around happily and started bouncing away from him.
"Hey! Wait, don't leave me. I still need to ask you some questions" Anton shouted as he chased the little blue light.
Anton continued chasing it. But then the blue light goes up and blasts away very fast. Anton took out his extendable hoverboard and chased it. Just then as he was about the grab the light, he suddenly blasted through an invisible glass barrier as if he broke through space and time. Anton fell endlessly while trying to move away from the rocks and energy balls that are in the way.
As soon as Anton was about to get hit by an asteroid rock, the blue light pushed him on a metal platform floating by. Anton stood up and stared back and stared at the blue light.
"What, what are you? And where are we?" Anton asked in fear.
The blue light started showing words above his head saying: "You are in the Border Verse, the space between each Universe. You were able to enter here because I weakened one of the Universal barriers so I could phase through, but you broke through instead."
Anton was surprised and asked: "Why did you let me follow you instead of just disappearing? Why won't you bring me back?"
The light ball reprinted the words: "I'm afraid I cannot answer the first one but I can answer the second one. It is because you are one of the only ones who can enter The Inner Circle."
"Whats in the world is The Inner Circle?" Anton asked
The light ball replied: "The Inner Circle serves as the inside of the Multiverse. Like the coding part of a video game. Only the developers or members of the game center can access the codings. In the Multiverse, there are this little light balls like me called Multiversal Characteristics Balls. They hold the answers to the truth that you must see which will free it."
"But why me? Can't you pick Ellie or something?" Anton said.
"You are the only one who is prepared. And Ellie cannot be disturbed from her Timeline like what the Shadow Villain Arcs did." The light ball responded.
"Well, that makes sense. So, if you are sure, where do we go first?" Anton asked.
The blue light ball circles the air and opens a portal. The words above said: "The first place". He explained that the place they are going is a place called Universe 1. Thats where the story began.
