Claire's POV:
When I woke up the following morning everything felt so strange. I got dressed and did my make up. I decided to get breakfast outside since I didn't really have anything here so far. After walking through the streets of LA for a while, I found a cute little bakery that didn't seem too busy so I went inside. I ordered a caramel iced latte and a croissant. I payed and sat down at a small table. I really liked the atmosphere here and since I didn't have a job here yet, I decided to ask one of the bakery employees if they were currently hiring, and they were. She got me the contacts of her manager and told me to give him a call in the afternoon. I thanked her and left. When I looked at my phone, the time was 10:33am. I was getting my new car today so I called an uber and he drove me to the car dealership. After signing a few things and refreshing the fuel I could finally leave, with my car this time. When I was halfway home, I decided to go to the stores since I needed food for the week. I went to target and got a few things, then went back home.
After sorting the groceries into the fridge and freezer I felt like another coffee. I got out my apartment, opened the 'maps' app on my phone and walked to the nearest Starbucks. I got my usual, a caramel iced latte. I thanked the barista and payed. On my way out I put my AirPods in and started to play some music. I didn't want to get back home just now so I went for a little walk to explore the city.I had walked for about twenty-five minutes until suddenly someone ran into me. "What the fuck?!" I kind of yelled at the person in front of me. It was a tall blonde woman. I looked at her for a second, when I noticed that I had spilled almost my entire coffee at her. "Fuck, I- I'm so sorry" I said looking directly into her eyes. I'm surethey were the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen, they had a greenish grey colour and looked liked they were sparkling because of the sun. I got caught off guard when she started speaking. "No, I'M so sorry, I-" she started, but when she looked down at herself, she saw the coffee running down her sweater, how had she not noticed it before? "Well shit" she said, a smile washed over her face and she looked me right into my eyes. "I have to go back to change, do you mind giving me your number so that I can get you a new coffee?" she said, still smiling wide. "Uh you know you don't have to, I'm the one that spilled the coffee on you." "Oh yeah, but I want to" she said with a slight smirk on her face, while biting down at her lower lip. "I mean yeah sure, why not" I smiled and she pulled out her phone and handed it to me to put my number in. 'Claire (coffee spiller)' was what I put as the contact name, so she'd know whose number that is. "Well, it was nice bumping into you and your coffee but I really need to go back to change now. I'll message you later, I promise." The blonde said, smiling and then turning around and walking away. "Yeah uhm alright, byee!" I slightly shouted going the opposite direction to go to my place.
This woman looked oddly familiar, which was weird since I had just moved here and didn't know anybody, but I swear I've seen her before and I will eventually find out.
When I got home I was kind of sad that I didn't have any company so I decided to call my best friend to catch up on things that had happened back home. We had called for a few hours, we didn't even notice. Time was running so fast when we spent time together. It's not been that long since I've had last seen her but I knew it would take a long time until we could hang out together in person again. We now had a different time zone of three hours so it was pretty late for me. We said our goodbyes and I went to the kitchen to make myself some dinner. I made an avocado toast and ate it along with some slices of apple. When I was done I got ready for bed and put my phone down, when I realised that I had forgotten to call the bakery. I panicked but then decided to just do it the next day.
I turned my tv on and started playing some young Sheldon, about half an hour later I dozed off into a good sleep. When I woke up the next morning I checked my phone, when I noticed I had gotten a message from a number that wasn't saved in my contacts.
