After winning the orange league barely he decided to stay home for 5 months since that's the time when Johto league season starts and train his current pokemon so he goes to get Squirtle primeape and Pidgeot and he flies home on Pidgeot

Ash explained everything to his mom and professor oak and asked them to teach him everything he needed to know before next journey

They agreed and goes to his pokemon and tells them everything they cheer and prepare for journey

Ash searched all his pokemon and nods seeing that they needed more moves

Ash heads home to prepare for lessons with his mom and makes training regimen for next 5 months
