When they arrived at home, Thea was quick to get inside and went up to her room, ignoring her dad's calls for her. She shut her door and threw her purse and kicked her shoes off, the sound of it echoing in the quiet room. She climbed into bed and buried her face into the pillow, sobbing loudly. She couldn't believe what had happened and she was so upset.
After a few minutes, there was a soft knock on her door. She ignored it, but then the door opened and her mother walked in. Thea lifted her head, her eyes puffy and red from crying, and her face flushed.
"Mom, I'm fine, really. I just need to be alone." She sniffled as she tried to stop crying.
Della frowns at her and sat on the edge of her bed, patting the space next to her. "Come here, baby." She whispered softly.
Thea didn't protest and sat up, crawling over and sitting beside her mother. Della wrapped her arm around her shoulders and pulled her close, letting Thea rest her head on her shoulder. Thea didn't say anything and just sobbed quietly. Della rubbed her back soothingly, letting her cry it out. A few moments later, there was a knock on the door and Drew poked his head in, his eyes full of concern and worry. He shared a look with his wife and he walked inside. He didn't say anything as he sat by Thea and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. Thea didn't protest and just melted into his embrace, letting the tears fall freely. Her parents held her tightly, not saying a word and letting her cry. They were worried about her, but they didn't press her.
When Thea calmed down, she pulled away and wiped her eyes. Her dad gave her a small smile and rubbed her back gently. "Wanna tell us what happened?" He asked, his voice gentle and kind. Thea sniffled as she nodded. She then explained everything to them. From her first kiss with Graham, to what happened earlier at the fundraiser. By the time she was done, she was sobbing again, her heart broken and her chest heavy.
Della and Drew listened carefully, their expressions showing their emotions. Their faces were a mixture of shock, sadness, and anger. When Thea finished talking, Drew was the first to speak.
"Baby, I'm so sorry. That was horrible and cruel." He said softly, his brows furrowed and his expression pained. He was furious and angry at what had happened, but he knew it wouldn't help. He was so upset for his little girl and he wanted to fix things, part of him wanted to give Graham a piece of his mind, but he knew that wasn't the answer. "I know it's hard, but you'll be okay."
"I just don't understand." Thea sobs, her face crumpled and her eyes watery. "I thought he was the one, you know. But now, I don't know. I don't think I can trust him anymore. How can I be with someone who's lied to me the whole time?"
"I'm so sorry this happened to you, mija. It's not fair." Della said softly, rubbing her daughter's back. "You didn't deserve any of this."
"But what if I'm the one who messed up? Maybe I jumped to conclusions. Maybe it was a misunderstanding. Maybe I was being a drama queen." Thea cries, her chest tightening and her heart aching. "I didn't give him the chance to explain and I yelled at him."
