Love works in weird ways

Chapter 21

I woke up early and decided to make James breakfast before he had to go to practice. I glanced at the clock and saw it was 7:30 in the morning. I quietly yawned before carefully getting out of bed. I threw on James's over sized shirt and a pair of panties before heading downstairs to cook. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail and hooked my phone up to the Ihome station and started playing Todays Hits music on Pandora. I danced as I started making omelets and hash browns for James and myself.

"Good morning," James said yawning as he walked into the kitchen where I had just finished cooking. 

"Morning honey," I said kissing him before giving him an omelet and plenty of potatoes along with a glass of apple juice.

"How did you sleep last night?" James asked yawning again before taking a sip of his apple juice.

"Good and you?" I asked smiling brightly and then placing my food and drink beside James.

"Very good. If only I didn't have practice today then we could have more fun," James said smirking.

"It's okay I'm actually going to go hang out with Brooke," I said smiling brightly and then continuing to eat.

"That's good babe, Have fun, Do you want my credit card?" James asked finishing the last bit of his omelet.

"No I couldn't take that plus we are only going out to get coffee and then she wanted to go to lunch just Sid,Her,you,and myself," I said smiling. 

"Sounds good with me," James said placing his plate and glass in the sink and then placing a kiss on my cheek before going to get ready for practice.

I finished eating and headed up stairs to get ready.

"James you've got to leave in 15 minutes," I reminded him as he tried to chose a shirt to wear.

"Okay I just have to chose a shirt," James said continuing to look at the two shirts in his hand while I picked out an outfit.

"Go with the long sleeve black shirt," I said pulling out my outfit which happened to be a pair of Aztec leggings and a baggy teal sweater along with a black infinity scarf. I grabbed a white bra and then grabbed my black Uggs. I got dressed in the bathroom and then kissed James goodbye.

"Be careful babe," I said as he threw his hockey bag in his car and went to get in the front seat.

"Will do see you for lunch later," James said giving me a kiss before getting in the car and leaving. I went upstairs and finished getting ready by putting on makeup and curling my hair. I slipped on some gloves and was out the door to head to Starbucks to meet Brooke.

"Hey Brooke," I said as I walked over to the table she sat at drinking a coffee.

"Hey Maddie," She said standing up and giving me a hug.

"I'm going to go order. I'll be right back," I said excusing myself before going to order my coffee and a piece of pound cake. It was going to be delicious!!

I sat down across from Brooke after receiving my order and then we began talking. Before I knew it she had once again asked about my past relationship and I knew it was time to tell her. I trusted her so I opened up about everything. I luckily got through the whole story without crying.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through all that," Brooke said standing up and hugging me.

"It's okay. I've got James now and he treats me like a princess," I said smiling a small smile.

"You've also got me and I'm happy to be your friend," Brooke said smiling.

"Thanks" I said and as soon as I said that James texted me saying me we were going to Olive garden for lunch and that Sid and him would meet us there.

"Do you need a ride?" I asked Brooke as I stood up to throw away my trash.

"Yes please. Sid dropped me off this morning," Brooke said laughing.

"No problem! Lets go!" I said smiling as we threw our trash away and then headed out to my car.

We climbed in and after about 19 minutes of traffic we were at Olive Garden.

"They're such goofs," I said referring to the fact that James and Sid sat outside in the cold waiting for us.

"You guys could have gone inside you know," Brooke said as we both approached James and Sid giving them a hug.

"Wheres the fun in that," James said shivering slightly. I grabbed his cold hand in my warm one and pulled him into the warm restaurant.

We were seated in the back quickly and soon our waiter came for our drink orders. I didn't mind sitting in the back because then people wouldn't come interrupt our meal as often as they would if we were in the front.

"So you guys ready for the game tomorrow?" Brooke asked smiling.

"Yeah, The Habs are always a tough team to beat though," Sid said in his Captain voice before taking a sip of his beer.

"Thanks captain," Brooke said chuckling and leaning her head on Sids shoulder. They were such a cute couple!

Soon our meal was brought to us and we all talked while eating our food. Brooke told me about how the girls were going to travel to LA to get out of the cold while the guys were on their Canada road trip and of course she invited me to come. I told her I would think about it. I wanted to go to LA because for one thing I've never been to California and we would be going to Disney World, but I also wasn't sure if I wanted to go without James. I would have to make sure to talk to James about it later.

Two hours later we all said goodbye and parted ways. Both James and Sid drove themselves here so Sid was giving Brooke a ride home of course and James and I were both driving home separate. It was a good chance for me to think about Brookes offer to go to LA with all the wives and girlfriends.

I decided I needed to go and that I would just watch James's games on TV or stream them online if I needed to. I needed to spend time with the other Wives and girlfriends so that they would hopefully like me and accept me. I knew Brooke and I were already friends, but I wanted to be friends or a least get along with the other girls.
