When the rest of the Marauders finally walked out of class, James was eager to join them. He grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the group, a bright smile on his face.
"Finally! I thought we'd be waiting forever!" he exclaims.
Remus rolls his eyes, "Always the dramatic one."
James lets go of my hand and throws his arm around Sirius's shoulders, the two of them leading our group to the common room. Remus walks beside me, leaving a noticeable gap between us.
"You don't have to be so far away, I'm not a monster," I joke.
He gives me an awkward smile, "Right."
Peter, who was in front of us, turned around, walking backwards to face us. "Oh, come on, Remy, you're acting like you're scared of her."
"Shut up," the tall boy responds, closing the large gap between us. "Happy?"
"Very," I say with a smirk.
His face turns red, "You've been hanging out with James too much."
"She doesn't hang out with me enough! We're practically strangers," James says.
Sirius pushes him, "Please, you've been with her most of the day. What were you two doing outside of our class anyway?"
"Hiding from your brother and his idiot friends. Man, he really doesn't like (Y/n)."
Sirius's smile drops, "Is he messing with you again?"
I shake my head, not wanting to start anything. "Everything's fine, nothing to worry about."
James mumbles something under his breath, but I can't hear him. Sirius's face is set into a scowl, and when we reach the portrait of The Fat Lady, he stops.
"Remus, you should show (Y/n) your muggle books. Peter, James, come with me."
Sirius doesn't give anyone time to respond as he drags Peter and James away. Remus watches them, a knowing look in his eyes. I go to follow them but he stops me. "It's better to just let them do what they want."
"They're going after Regulus, aren't they?"
He sighs, "Most likely, but it's nothing you should worry about. Let's go read."
I know the boys mean well, and that it's really not my place to interfere. However, I can't help but feel guilty about whatever it is they have planned. Getting caught up in sibling rivalry wasn't what I thought would happen at my first year of Hogwarts.

Remus and I were sitting next to each other reading when the Marauders returned.
"He shouldn't bother you for a while."
I raise an eyebrow at Sirius but decide not to ask. Like Remus said, it's better to let them do what they want.
"You two look so cute, cozied up on the couch, reading together," James says, sitting in between Remus and I.
He pulls Remus into a choke-hold, ruffling his hair. "Our dear Remy boy may finally be pulling bitches."
"Are you insinuating that I'm a bitch?"
James freezes, slowly turning to face me. "Well, no-"
"Should've thought that through, mate," Peter says.
Remus shoves James off the couch and climbs on top of him. He tries to push Remus off, but the taller boy holds him down.
"Take it back, Prongs!"
