Heather's POV
"Do not call me that," I glared at the man infront of me. 'Did he truly ever love me?' I thought. 'Or was it just another way to get the million,'
"Oh come on, I know you love it," Alejandro smirked. He walked up to me and took my hand, bringing me closer to him.
"Alejandro, stop this..," I said.
"Stop what?" He replied, pulling me even closer to him. Suddenly, Gwen jumped up from her seat. "She said stop!" Gwen yelled, pushing him away from me.
"Alright chicas, calm down-" Alejandro started.
"No, Alejandro, you can't bullshit your way out of this one," Gwen said, pointing a finger at him. Alejandro just walked off and took a seat next to Duncan, since Duncan was sitting next to Courtney, my original seat would be far too close to Alejerkdro. 'Maybe I could sit next to Gwen?'
Gwen sat down by herself, so I sat next to her.
"Gwen, I-" I started.
"Save it, I don't want to hear any of you or your boyfriend's bullshit," Gwen went back to scribbling in her journal.
Gwen's POV:
I knew Heather was probably just going to lie to me so I shut her up.
"He's not my boyfriend..," Heather said after a long silence.
"Really?" I said, with one of my eyebrows raised up, clearly not convinced.
"Yeah.., um I guess it's complicated?" Heather said softly.
I looked in her eyes, expecting to see rage or denial, but instead I found sadness. Obviously seeing multiple kids get burned badly was traumatizing for all of us, but it must of been especially bad for Heather.
She probably blames herself for the burn scars that cover Alejandro. The guilt must be eating her up inside, and it looks like Alejandro has taken advantage of that.
"Hey.. are you okay?" I asked her. A tear rolled down her cheek, before a whole bunch more come flooding out. She hugged me, then whispered in my ear, "I'm sorry..,"
"What?" I said in shock.
"I'm sorry, I was awful to you, I caused you a lot of emotional, mental and physical stress,"Heather said, choking on her words from how much she was crying.
I- I don't think I can forgive you yet, give me time," I replied.
"I understand..,"
We sat through the rest of the bus ride in silence, all the contestants had gotten on at this point. Eventually Heather fell asleep during the trip, her head rested on my shoulder and I don't know why, but I didn't move her.
Maybe things could change, or maybe they wouldn't, I guess it's... complicated...
