The two girls were walking with each other, side by side and hand in hand, as the cold, chilly winter air blew against their faces and the year's first snow fall softly fell around them. Although the two didn't live with each other, their dorms were relatively close to each other that they were able to walk home and to the university campus together every day. Truth be told, it was the shorter one's favourite time of the day as she got to spend alone time with her older friend, Hirai Momo. She enjoyed spending time with Momo so much that if it were an option, she would spend eternity with the Japanese girl. However, she knows it's not possible.

"Momo?" The black haired friend softly voices in between shivers. She was freezing from the lack of warmth she was receiving as she wasn't exactly dressed appropriately for the weather.

"Yes, Dahyunnie? Are you cold?" Momo asks her as she pulls her closer into her embrace after she removes her own scarf and wraps it around the younger. The last thing she wanted was for her friend to get sick right before exams began. "Don't catch a cold Dahyunnie, it's not healthy".

Dahyun just nods her head and leans her head onto her friend's shoulder as she lives in the moment with no other thoughts in her head other than the ones that wish for this moment to last forever.

"Momo?", Dahyun speaks again, "Will you promise to never leave me? Just you and I against the world forever?" She asks with hope that her friend will agree and to her joy she does.

"Of course, Dahyunnie. I'll never ever leave you and I promise you that much" She pinky promises as she places a gentle kiss on the younger's forehead. This does nothing but causes Dahyun's heart to melt and fall for Momo more than she could ever imagine.

She wishes moments like these can last forever. She loves her friend, truly. She understands the other might not like her back, but that's okay. Some things are just not meant to be, which is why she is walking alone in frosty winter air as she watches the first snowfall of the year without her friend. The feeling was bitter and painful. It hurts Dahyun to know that the one she loves is enjoying this moment with someone else other than her. Momo had promised her that she would stay with her forever, but why could she feel her slowly drifting away from her as if she was nothing?

"You promised me you would stay by my side forever, Momo," Dahyun said as she looked up into the night sky expecting to see something, but ultimately knowing that nothing was truly there. "If you promised me forever then why are you slowly forgetting about me? We were supposed to watch the first snowfall together like we always do," tears were rolling down her cheeks now and she could feel the cold biting back her and her body becoming numb to the chilly air, "but, why are you always with her now... I thought it was you and me against the world?" Dahyun asked no one around her in particular as she was absolutely alone.

She stood there as the tears let themselves fall down her face as she questioned the world and fate. Why would you promise someone "forever," only to forget about them so soon?
