But as they got closer to The Shadow's lair, they knew they were walking into a trap. The Shadow had planned this all along, and he was waiting for them.
As they entered the lair, they saw Nathalia, bound and gagged. The Shadow stood over her, a malevolent grin spreading across his face.
"Welcome, guardians," he said, his voice like ice. "I've been waiting for you. You're just in time to witness the final act of my plan."
