I stared at the stranger in front of me with confused look. "Have we met before?" I asked him. My mind was blurry, I couldn't even remeber who I was. But I knew for sure that the stranger in front of me was a different breed. "Out of all the question you could possibly ask me you choose the one that would break me the most." The stranger laughed a little. I gave him a confused look and he gave me one in return. This stranger... He was no ordinary, was he? I couldn't even tell if he really meant those words or was just playing with me. "Break you? What do you mean by a statement like that, have we actually met before?" That stranger gave me once again a confused look. "No. We haven't, perhaps this can be our new beggining." Now I was even more lost, was he really just playing with me back then.. Or does he know that I couldn't remember a single thing leading to this moment. "Perhaps you're right." I gave him a shrug smile in return.
"I'm Hajimari. Hajimari Ito, and you are?" The now not-a-stranger said.
"My name's..." And then it hit me. What is my name?
"Call me Nihila. That's a nickname I got by my friend... Because I always... forget things." I lied. Of course I lied, I don't even know if I have any friends.
"Nihila it is then." He bursted out laughing and I quickly laughed too when I heard how bad it sounds.
"By the way... Your name, it's Japanese, right?" It surprised me, because he didn't look that much of a Japanese, or perhaps my mind is too fucked up to even know the difference anymore.
"That's right, My mom's Japanese. Even though I cought most of the genetics on my dad's side." He laughed. "She choose the name and my dad liked it too, so he sticked to it for her sake." Hajimari added.
"Do you have a good relationship with your family?" I dared to question, which is odd. Because we just met.
"No. I barely talk to my mother. She moved to Japan to persue her own dreams. So right now, I'm staying with my dad here, we're comfortable I would say. My mom moved when I was still really young, so It's always been only me and my dad. But sometimes when im really lonely... I do miss having a mother in my life." He said almost without any emotion to it, which I did admire, because having no mother in your life really must be... hard. But then again, what even is my relationship with my family?
"Did you ever think of going to Japan? Maybe to find your mother... or Perhaps starting a new life there."
"No. If I were to start a new life, I'd really want to go to Italy."
"Italy?" I laughed. "Why Italy?"
"I was there a few times and I just like the vibe it brings me. It's rather... Very precious place for me." Hajimari smiled a little and I smiled a little with him.
"I should go home now, and maybe you should go too. I bet your family is wondering where you are this whole time." Right... As If I know if I even have one. But maybe I am too dramatic.
"Sure... Maybe we'll meet again someday?" I asked.
He laughed. "Don't be so dramatic, we go to school together. Don't you remember?" Yeah of course I don't remember, dumbass. I lost my memory and I don't even know who I am. He doesn't know that though. So I laughed at his so called joke.
"I must have missed you, oops. My bad." He just laughed at my statement.
"Sure, so see you around the school, Nihila."
"Yeah, see you around the school... Hajimari." He waved goodbye to me and walked away.
Now, I just need to figure out where I live. That won't be too hard, right?.
