Another day in your life. It was the same as every other school day, although you didn't greet it with any excitement. You were Tengen Uzui's baby sister... of course you were popular and flashy. He wouldn't have it any other way.
That meant you showed up to school in your uniform and your hair tied back, a bedazzled headband keeping the flyaways in place. That meant you smiled and nodded along with whatever the other popular girls talked about. That meant you endured the endless stares and whispers and lewd comments from the boys. That meant you did it all with a smile.
That didn't mean that you wanted to. That didn't mean that you were happy that every single guy your age wanted to sleep with you. That didn't meant any of your "friends" were real friends. That didn't mean that you wanted to spend time with anyone but your brother.
It was a well known fact that your older brother was a player in high school, toning it down in college and becoming a bachelor after he graduated. But it was a lesser known fact that you didn't follow in his footsteps. Sure, you'd kissed boys before, but never more than that. But nobody knew... everyone thought your body count was through the roof.
You never corrected anyone, and that wasn't about to change. As you walked through the halls, waving to the same particular group of boys, you kept all your thoughts to yourself. Thoughts of being fake, being unwanted, even being unpretty. You kept your lips sealed and curled into a nice smile everywhere you went.
It was exhausting. And today, just like every other day, you returned home to an empty house, your brother not getting out of work until 5. You got your homework done, made a snack, and settled on the couch just as he arrived.
He beamed when he saw you, like always. "Hey sis!" He smiled, taking off his shoes. "How was school?"
"Fine," you sighed. "How was work?"
"Fine," he answered, sitting next to you on the couch. "I was thinking take out tonight... sound good?"
"Sure."
He draped an arm over your shoulder, looking down at you as you pointedly ignored him for the tv. Whenever he was this close to you, your heart always started racing. It was like a natural reaction to his presence. So, since you refused to look at him, you missed the way his eyes roved over you in your school uniform, the too-short skirt riding up your thighs as you sat. You missed the way his breath hitched and he shifted in his seat as he stared at you. But, like with every fleeting glance, it didn't last long, and he stood up and cleared his throat. "I'll order it now then."
As he walked away, pulling his phone out of his pocket (and adjusting himself discretely), you stole a glance at his back. He worked out, he was an athletic man, and it showed. Broad shoulders, toned muscles, shoulder-length hair tied up in a ponytail. He was dripping with sex appeal... you could understand how he was such a player in high school. But that's all it was... understanding... not active desire... right?****
Dinner wasn't awkward, it never was. You and your brother talked like usual, watching tv and complaining about the actors, making jokes and talking about school, all the usual activities. But you were so tired tonight, school really wore you out. So you laid your head on your brother's shoulder, eyes fighting to stay open.
Of course, he noticed, smiling softly as he looked down at you. "Tired, little one?" he whispered, playing with your hair.
"Mmmm," you hummed, agreeing with him.
"Lemme put you to bed."
He scooped you up in his arms before you could protest, carrying you upstairs to your bedroom. Still in your school uniform, he laid you down and hovered over you as your eyelids fluttered and your hand limply rested against the back of his neck. "Love you Ten," you breathed, smiling up at him. He was so close... you could feel his breath on your cheek.
"G'night little one," he whispered, kissing your cheek gently, lingering there. "I love you too. More than you'd ever know."
As your eyes shut, you could've sworn that he kissed the corner of your lips. You could've sworn he brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. And you could've sworn he grabbed something from the clean laundry basket sitting in your room. But perhaps you were just seeing things with how tired you were. And that thought lulled you to sleep.(A/N: I'm so sorry this took so long and it's so short 😭😭 I've been sorta overwhelmed lately starting my summer job but I promise I'll be better with updating!)
