Part 7

"O-over here!" John said his voice seems panicked

I turn right where the voice is coming from. I don't go far before I run into John who was running away from where they were with Ruby behind him. The ground shook and a bunch of birds flew away.

"What the hell was that?" I Questioned

"m-monster!" is the only thing that Ruby says she seems utterly horrified

The ground shook a few more times. A loud monstrous shrek rings out across the forest. I grab both John and Ruby's hands and I start running in the opposite direction. A sharp pain shoots through my leg but I keep running. Whatever this thing is, it is large enough to shake the ground but small enough to be hidden by the trees. The thing roars again, the ground rumbles as it follows us. Animals run alongside us, trying to out run this thing. My leg goes out and I fall over flat on my face. I use my arms to push me up so I am sitting on my butt. Both John and Ruby stand next to me.

"Are you ok?" ruby asks

"Yeah, I am good"

I rub dirt off of my face, the ground continues to rumble. Animals are still running away, I try to stand up but I fail miserably.

"Look I need you two to run away, go as far as you can try to find one of the others"

"What about you? We aren't just going to leave you here"

"My leg went out, I can't walk so you're going to have to leave me."

They just stand there for a moment, then they walk behind me and they both grab one of my arms and they start to drag me. They don't get far before falling on their asses.

"Guys I am just slowing you down, leave me and run"

"No, we aren't going to let you die!"

"I am not going to die, I will be fine."

They look at each other then nod. The shaking of the ground stops for but a few moments then continues.

"Fine, we trust you."

"good now go!"

They both run off towards the stream. It doesn't take long until they are out of sight.(thank god they're safe for now, Now what do I do? where am I going to go?) I looked around and there are not any good hiding places in this area. I lay on my stomach and I slowly army crawl left half hoping that the beast will follow me instead of the little ones. I hear the monster screech but this time it is different. It sounds angry and Deeper than the roar I heard before. (Is it a different monster? That seems the most logical explanation I have got. ) I continue army crawling, the loud roars don't seem to be very far from where I am at. It kind of sounds like they're fighting but I can't be sure. I crawl faster trying to get as far away as Possible. (fuckin' stupid leg, fucking stupid nerve damage, Fuckin-) my thoughts and my crawling gets interrupted when one of the monsters hits a tree not too far from me. The trees are blocking most of the monster. The only thing I can make out is it looks like it has deer fur and its fucking tall I'd say about 9 or 10 feet tall. I continue crawling faster than before trying to get away from these things. I look over once more and I notice the thing with deer fur standing up, it is about half as tall as the tree blocking most of it. (I am not going to stay here long enough to see what that thing is.) I crawl more about the same pace as before, my leg still tingling in pain; I try my best to make sure I don't make a lot of noise as to not alert the monster nearby. A twig snaps as I set my arm on to the ground. The monster whips around the tree, It's the monster from my dream! It looks almost exactly the same as before but this time it is bleeding from the torso, legs and arms. Upon seeing this creature a feeling of fear and unsettledness engulfs me, I can't move or even scream. I am just stuck looking at this deer thing. (I must be dreaming. Yeah t-this is just a dream, I should be waking up at any moment.) but I don't wake up, the deer looking thing slowly walks towards me tilting its head to its side almost like it is confused. It stops a few inches away from me still looking confused.

"H-Hello?" I say in a more curious and cautious tone.

"...."

"Are you shy or something?"

"...."

"Are you going to eat me?"

The deer beast shakes its head no then it points at me.

"Are you wondering why I am on the ground?"

The creature nods in response to my question.

"I have nerve damage in my left leg, so walking for long periods of time can make my leg hurt and after a while my leg hurts so much I can't walk for a few hours."

The creature nods in understanding. It walks closer to me then it picks me up into its arms bridal style. Its body feels cold to the touch, and it smells of decay. It starts walking towards where the creek is. The beast walks slowly, ducking under tree branches every once in a while. Its blood getting all over my clothes and arms some of it even getting on the side of my face. Its breathing is steady and calm, (wait how can it breathe? Why did it only talk in my dream? Where did it come from? So many questions and I am not going to get answers.)
