Her phone buzzed quietly. Mia shuddered and glanced at her phone confusedly. She picked up her phone while attempting to read the message with her hazed eyes. She didnt recognize the number.

"Hey Mia! I was thinking it might be fun to hang out at the amusement park this weekend"
"Its Harper btw"

Mia's pulse quickened as she read the message, her mind racing with a whirlwind of emotions. She couldn't believe Harper had asked her to hang out—just the two of them. It was everything she had been hoping for, yet now that it was happening, she found herself overwhelmed with doubt.

"What if Harper doesn't really want to spend time with me?" Mia thought to herself, her stomach churning with uncertainty. "What if this is just a pity invite?" "How did she get my number?"

Despite her doubts, Mia couldn't ignore the flutter of excitement that filled her chest at the thought of spending the day with Harper. She knew she had to seize the opportunity, even if it meant pushing past her fears.

With a deep breath, Mia typed out her reply, her fingers hovering over the keys for a moment before hitting send.

"Hey, yeah i'll go but how did you get my number?"

As she hit send, a rush of adrenaline surged through Mia's veins. She couldn't believe she had actually agreed to go. But even as she felt a surge of excitement, doubt lingered in the back of her mind.

"What if I mess everything up?" Mia wondered, her heart sinking with apprehension. "What if Harper realizes she made a mistake inviting me?"

"Oh shit yeah i got it from ur dad" Harper responded quickly.

Mia's thoughts raced as she contemplated the myriad of ways things could go wrong. She imagined awkward silences punctuating their conversations, her clumsy attempts at humor falling flat, and Harper regretting ever extending the invitation.

As the hours passed, Mia found herself caught in a whirlwind of uncertainty. She second-guessed every outfit choice, rehearsed conversations in her mind, and battled a constant sense of unease that threatened to consume her.

But amidst the chaos of her anxious thoughts, there was a small voice of hope—a whisper of possibility that refused to be silenced. It reminded her of the moments she had shared with Harper, the laughter and the smiles, the connection that had sparked between them.

With each passing moment, Mia found herself clinging to that hope, allowing it to overshadow her doubts and fears. She reminded herself that Harper had chosen to spend time with her, that there must be something about her that Harper found appealing.
