The prince's head rested on y/n's lap as the other students looked at him. Epel was pouting with Mearle, "Wait do I know you?" 

Ruggie asked, he leaned so close that he and y/n's noses brushed, y/n cocked an eyebrow, "Epel?" He asked throwing a hand towards Ruggie in a silent question, that obviously was "We know this kid?"

Epel shrugged, "Maybe. We know a lotta people."

Y/n and Epel looked to Ruggie in unison then back to each other continuing their silent conversation. "Where would we know em?" Y/n asked with a head nod and a raised eyebrow.

"Maybe the Applepom?" Epel said with a shrug and a head nod.

The others watched in confusion as the two silently talked, "I don't think so." Y/n finally said to the beastmen less than an inch (2.54 cm) from his face. "Hm, you smell so familiar..." he whispered taking in the younger's scent. Y/n looked to Epel for help, as always, which he couldn't give before Leona woke up.

Leona groaned, "Ah Leona Kingscholar. Yeh're awake." The prince opened one of his eyes.

"Kit?"

"Awe look at the baby lion all hurt and alone..." looking up the cub saw nothing but red. He felt smaller hands over the hand that was resting over his left eye.

He saw the blurry outline of a young boy. The tears in his eyes made it hard to make him out.

"Little cub... all alone." The boy seemed to repeat the same few words. "G— g— get away from me..." he hissed, the boy was unbothered. "Come on cub, let's clean that wound." The small boy dragged him up, and to a stream where the boy got clean water on a wash cloth and pressed it to the lion's wound.

"There there little cub." He hated this little kid, callin him cub and little. What was with him?

"Who are you?" He asked, watching as the boy's ears twitch, "That's not important." He said teasingly, Leona's ears pinned in annoyance. "Why did you help me?" The boy didn't turn his tail wagged back and forth gently. His ears didn't look like hyenas, the two most common beastmen around here were hyena and lions, he had never seen ears or tails like this boy's.

"What are you?" The boy looked back, "You should know cub, it's rude to act a beastmen his breed like that." He chuckled, "But since you are a fellow beastmen, I'll let it slide. I'm a dingo." 

His vision now cleared, he took a good look at this dingo boy. The boy's ears twitched again, his tail wagging faster as the prince took in his appearance. "Like what you see?" This boy was definitely younger than he was. He couldn't have been older than 5 or 6, the prince wondered where his parents were. 

His ears looked like they hadn't fully grown in yet, which was normal for a boy his age. His tail shared that look. "I've never met a dingo before." The lion's tail twitched with curiosity. The boy giggled, "I've never talked with a lion before either."

The boy's smiled made the prince feel some way...

Y/n cocked his head, "Eh?"

No this couldn't be that boy, he didn't have ears or a tail, his kit had adorable sandy rounded ears that came up to a point on the tips, a longer fluffy sandy tail. This boy wasn't a beastmen. 

"He does look like em right?" Ruggie asked, Leona shook himself, "What happened?"

The Heartslabyul first years explained what he had just done, Leona couldn't process this, he overblotted? Him?

"I— I overblotted?" He asked in a small voice, he felt y/n get up, the shorter boy was dragged off by Epel who then brushed him off obsessively. "You don't remember?" Jack asked him, Leona looked at his hands, shaking his head. 

How did this happen?

The victims of the beastman decided to have a spelldrive match against Savanaclaw instead of whatever the headmage had in mind.

"We'll join!" Epel said looking to y/n, "Eh? Um— would that be alright?" The headmage asked the victims, "I don't see why not." A boy with green hair and glasses said, shrugging.

Y/n kicked off the ground, hovering next to Epel, their team started with the disk.

A boy with long black braided hair threw it with all his magic. It soured towards the Savanaclaw goal. A Savanaclaw 2nd year caught it, he made a pass to Ruggie who was already ready, y/n cut in between them, "Ah'mma take this" he winked as he flew out of harms way and threw it into the Savanaclaw goal from above.

Their team ended up winning with y/n and Epel making the perfect duo they always had been.

"Alright!!" They both cheered high-fiving each other.

"Wow, they work really well together." A first year of Heartslabyul, named Deuce, said; watching as the two childhood friends flew around each other playing a game that no one could make out the rules of.

Mearle stomped his feet, the Heartslabyul housewarden Riddle walked to the steed. "This was the horse in the horse stable, so it's that boys?" 

He went over to pet it but Mearle threw his head up staring at the housewarden with clearly said "Pet me and lose a hand." 

Riddle backed up respectfully. He wondered how that boy could leave his horse untethered like this and have zero fear that he'd get spooked and run off. But yet again this horse seemed to be something horses get scared of.

The headmage let y/n stay at Night Raven for the night as a thank you for helping with the housewarden's overblot. Y/n and Epel stayed in the teachers lounge, where the headmage had sent y/n to stay. 

"This rocks." Epel whispered. Y/n giggled and nodded, Mearle wasn't  happy about having to stay at the horse stables, unlike at Royal Sword where y/n had a small pasture that made it so Mearle could just roam around campus.

Next to y/n's cabin was a small horse stall that Mearle just loved, he could stay in it or out of it. But Mearle followed y/n's instructions and stayed at the horse stables.

"What was Leona and Ruggie-San talkin about?" Epel asked.

Y/n sighed, "Remember how ah told cha bout how before ah lived back home, meh parents and ah had some... odd things?" Epel nodded, "The truth is that, ah used to be a beastmen."
