In Peyton's room, the TV flickered with a horror movie, prompting Brooke to stir awake as someone screamed.
Kat, teasingly, nudged Brooke. "Wake up sleepy head."

Peyton, commenting on a scene from the movie, remarked, "That's gonna leave a mark."
Brooke, feeling disoriented, asked, "So what am I doing here?"
Kat pointed out, "Brooke, that's two weekends in a row you don't remember what happened the night before."
Concerned, Brooke pleaded, "Oh, please tell me I didn't make a fool of myself with Lucas."
Peyton assured her, "Nope, that would be me."
Surprised, Brooke inquired, "Wait. You two were totally hot for each other."
Peyton explained, "Were. Until about halfway through ripping each other's clothes off I bailed."
Curious, Brooke asked, "Because?"
Peyton recounted, "Because he got all serious. He was talking about this intense commitment or I don't know."
Kat, interjecting sarcastically, quipped, "Yeah, commitment is so scary, isn't it?"
Peyton agreed, "You would be too, if he got all serious and marriage-like."
Brooke, dissatisfied with the turn of events, lamented, "Uh. I don't want to live in a world where three fine and willing girls like ourselves can have such a lame Friday night. I gotta change my karma. Maybe you should make some changes too."
Kat, defending herself, retorted, "I didn't wake up with a foggy memory."
Brooke playfully teased, "Well, you didn't exactly wake up with Nathan, either," earning a playful punch from Kayla.
Peyton changed the subject, asking, "You guys believe that crap about Troy?"
Kat expressed doubt, saying, "That he was using Haley? That's way out of character for him."
Peyton pondered, "Yeah, I don't know, maybe Nathan peer pressured him into it."
Kat suggested another possibility, "Or it's a nasty rumor."
Brooke remained quiet, remembering her promise to Reagan to keep the rumor a secret.

Troy's mind was consumed with worry about Haley ever since the party. He couldn't shake the image of her distressed face after Brooke's cruel words. He knew he never intended to hurt her, and the rumors about him using her were tearing him apart. He needed to find her and clear things up.
With determination, Troy decided to call Haley's house. When Mrs. James answered, he introduced himself as Haley's tutoring student.
"Hey, Mrs. James. My name is Troy Dawson. Haley's tutoring me," he explained. "I haven't been able to get in contact with her. I was wondering if you knew where she is?"
