I entered "The Beach," a big building filled with loud music and people having a blast, though some were getting a bit too cozy in public, if you know what I mean. Ann showed me around until we met this person called Hatter. She explained the bases and how things worked here.

After chatting with Hatter for a bit, I somehow ended up scoring a cool title as an executive with the rank 010. It was all pretty wild and exciting, but also kinda nerve-wracking. Guess I'll see where this ride takes me!

Present

I wandered around the so called 'The Beach', even after a game where I had to kill someone I was calm as mouse. It's thanks to my detective training, of course :). The smell of alcohol in the air made me want to drink too, or at least smoke. I was never a fan of any of those but right now....I simply want it.

***

In the dimly illuminated club, I found solace in the depths of my drink, my mind consumed by the swirling liquid, paying little heed to the world around me. With each sip from the bottle, the fog of intoxication enveloped me further, rendering thoughts of mortality fleeting amidst the chaotic ambiance. Amidst the pulsating music and flickering lights, a girl adorned with dreadlocks caught my attention, her figure partially revealed by a vibrant blue bikini adorned with delicate flowers.

"Seeking a release from stress?" she asked, her voice muffled by the fake cigarette between her teeth.

I shook my head, mumbling, "No, just bored," acknowledging the simple boredom that had led me to seek refuge in alcohol.

"I'm Kuina," she offered with a smile, extending a trembling hand towards mine.

"Satoko," I replied, reciprocating the gesture, preferring the familiarity of my first name over the formality of my surname. It never quite felt like me; thus, I always opted to introduce myself by my given name.

"So, a first name person, huh?" she remarked with a chuckle, to which I simply nodded in agreement, having always preferred the informality of given names. I always thought that my last name didn't fit my face so I always introduced myself as 'Satoko'.

"How long have you played already? You seem like a newbie since i don't any kind of you know, scar or wound. But sorry if you're just a great player i didn't-"

"Newbie." I spoke coldly, I didn't want to make her feel down at the moment. She reminded me of my mom tbh.

"So....What's your niche in the games?" She asked me again.

"What do you mean?" I asked not kindly understanding what she meant. "Do you mean the kind or winnin strategy?"

"both."

"oh, them hearts." I smiled at her and she smiled back. She was nice to talk to, she wasn't much of a listener tho like she seemed at first.

As she bombarded me with questions, I found myself engaging in conversation, the laughter and banter flowing freely. With each passing moment, the effects of alcohol began to take their toll, my senses dulled by intoxication. Kuina, however, remained composed, her moderation evident as she remained steady on her feet, having imbibed significantly less than myself, perhaps a mere fraction of my intake.
