My hate can be tempting,
Got you simping for me.'In my poetic hate, you'll drown'
Everyone's life is shitty at some point, and mine's way more weirdly shitty.Today, I woke up to find a massive hickey on my neck, and it's really throwing me off. I have no clue how it got there—I went straight home last night, and there's no way anyone could have gotten in without me noticing.
I'm seriously confused; I don't even remember when this happened. It's messing with my head big time. I hate it when things mess with my mind. I feel like either smashing the mirror or scratching my neck until the hickey disappears, but I know scratching will just leave an ugly scar.
Scars are okay when they're hidden, but when they're out in the open, they're just plain ugly.
I sighed and applied concealer to hide this irritating eyesore on my neck. After checking myself in the mirror and taking a moment to appreciate my appearance, I headed to my law firm. I co-own it with a business partner who, surprisingly, used to be my college rival. Funny how life works out—when an opportunity arises, you've got to seize it, even if it means teaming up with someone you never thought you would.
As soon as I stepped into my office, my secretary followed me in with a smile on her face.
"It's a good day, stop scowling this early in the morning," she said pointedly. I raised an eyebrow at her bluntness.
She just offered me her sunshine smile in return.
"How about getting to work instead of staring at my face, Advika?" I asked. She nodded, getting all serious.
This is what I like about her. She is sunshine and vanilla, but also devoted to her work, just like me.
"We have our next hearing for the Farhaan murder case tomorrow," she continued, and I nodded, giving her my full attention.
