"NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL?"

Evelyn sighed as Evan Rosier shouted at her. "You're literally his pupil now, Eve!" Evan was still very shocked that she had been chosen and Diana too, who agreed with him. "I would be freaking out right now, I mean- how does it feel?"

The truth was, she was freaking out. Voldemort had not even talked to her for five minutes and just decided she was worthy enough to his pupil. Why? What did that role even mean? For what purpose?

"I don't know... I mean, it's nice... I guess..." It was hard to brush it off like it was nothing because it was everything. I mean, when is there a opportunity to be at The Dark Lord's right side? Anyone who was pureblood wanted that. Why didn't Evelyn?

Maybe it was because she was being too paranoid. Maybe Voldemort actually saw something great in her.

"Hello? Earth to Chrysan?" Diana lightly tapped her on the shoulder, making her flinch before noticing she was staring at the ground. How embarrassing. "Yeah, sorry." Evelyn brush her hair out of her face, turning around to put her journal in her bag. "Did you hear what I said?" Evan asked slowly, "You seem out of it today."

Evelyn turned around to see both of her friends staring at her like a family member just died. She didn't need there pity, she didn't need anyone's. "I didn't get enough sleep last night, I was going over Lucinda's new regime for Quidditch this year. God I wish Emma was still here." Evelyn rolled her eyes, at imagining the tall brunette who had just been Captained last year. Lucinda was a lot of things, subtle was not one of them and that didn't help at matches.

"Come on, I'm sure you'll guys will do great." Diana patted Evelyn's shoulder supportively. "We won last year, didn't we?" Evelyn smiled slightly, "Thanks guys, your right. We got this." The words were forced out of her lips, making her cringe. Why would she say something she didn't believe herself?

"Come on kids! Time to go!" Richard's voice yelled from downstairs, Evelyn quickly grabbed her luggage and thanked Evan as he helped her down the stairs, ignoring Diana's knowing glance. "Say goodbye to Ma, will you?" Richard gestured his little sister toward's there mothers room. Evelyn sighed and unlocked the door, quietly shutting it before turning to her mother who was sleeping.

Evelyn smiled as she touched her mother's hand, holding it gently in her own before slowly taking a seat next to her mother's bed. "What am I supposed to do, Ma? Am I doing the right thing?"

There no answer, no comforting voice to tell her what she wanted to hear.

The journey on The Hogwarts Express was Evelyn's least favorite part of Hogwarts. The good seats were always taken, people were stepping on your shoes, it was a safety hazard. But as Evelyn had learned since her first year, Hogwarts didn't have a a great record of keeping students safe.

Evelyn took a seat next to Diana, accidently hitting her left arm on the window, making her wince in pain. Her mark was still hurting... why? She didn't know. Everyone who got their mark didn't have pain a week after. Why did she? Maybe she was just being dramatic but she couldn't shake off the feeling something was wrong.

"Are you still being tutored this year?" Diana giggled, playing with her red hair. Evelyn could see the blush, and obviously knew what she was getting at. "Yes and before you ask, I will not put in a good word for you."

Severus Snape had been tutoring Evelyn in Potions and for some reason Diana fancied him. The dark, moody seventh year had caught her best friends gaze. "Aw, come on." Diana frowned, turning to see if Evan agreed with her but he shook his head too. "Severus isn't your type, Ana. Sorry, Eve's right on thing one." Diana's face turned red, obviously wanting support from her friends. "Really guys?" Evan and Evelyn traded looks. With that Diana got up, slamming the compartment door.
