I fixed the grammar for this chapter. I realized how bad It was until I read It myself lol.[><><><><><><><><><><><><><]
What a sight to behold. Though I have no memory of this world or anything, honestly, I'm quite happy about it. New discoveries are always a fun experience! Nothing brings more joy than discovering something new.
The night sky over Lungmen is bright, though it obscures the stars. Still, the neon lights are quite a rare sight. It always feels like a party whenever I gaze at them.
He enjoyed the view for a short while, but, of course, things must come to an end. His enjoyment was disrupted when a certain someone entered their home. He stopped and turned his focus to her.
"Welcome home. What did you get this time?" he asked, his hidden face revealing two bright orbs, presumably his eyes.
"I got ice cream and reheatable hamburger steaks," she said, her voice tinged with tiredness.
He watched her remove her socks and immediately head to her bed, staring at her phone. The room they were in was rather small. If they stood in the middle and stretched their arms sideways, they'd touch both sides of their beds, which were at the two corners of the room.
He stopped and returned to gazing at the night sky. But suddenly, an alarm rang. He looked at the source—his phone—and realized it was time to continue his work. He had a schedule for when he would work at home or finish remaining tasks. The alarm was there to ensure he didn't accidentally leave something out. He also had alarms for his gym workouts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Three months had passed since he left Rhodes, and he had started working about a month ago. He noticed his muscles slowly developing and was fascinated by maintaining a well-defined body without overworking himself, so his muscles wouldn't become unnaturally bulky. He had seen on TV how bodybuilders overworked themselves and ended up with unsightly muscles. He wanted his muscles pristine and well-managed, though what the Doctor didn't know was that many of those bodybuilders were using steroids, which he hadn't even known existed.
He left the window he was leaning on and went to his desk, immediately starting on the report for his company. Though the Doctor was naive in some respects, he was always striving to be the best, both physically and mentally.
He destroyed his competitors and got promoted within a month. He did notice his workload starting to pile up, but his paycheck was considerably larger given Lungmen's economy. He hummed as he wrote on the paper before he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Doc, I'm going to sleep. Keep it down."
"Ah, okay," he responded.
He reached up for the light switch, flicking it off. He turned on his lamp, adjusted its brightness, and got back to work.
He hummed as he wrote on bond paper. He sometimes enjoyed this quietness; back at Rhodes, it was always rowdy and noisy. He had always begged to be left alone at times, and now he could enjoy some peace and quiet.
After half an hour of writing, he finished the first report, then swiped the paper to the left and started on the second one. This one was much shorter, so he finished it quickly and began on the third.
This report was quite long, possibly 4 to 5 pages. He estimated it would take him about 2 hours to complete. It wasn't his first time writing something this long, but it was certainly not the longest.
About an hour in, while he was writing, he heard movement behind him. He turned around and saw his roommate getting out of bed and yawning. He wondered why she had woken up suddenly, as she never woke up at night.
"Had a nightmare?" he asked, checking if he was right.
"I don't know..." Her voice was full of tiredness, and she yawned frequently. "I think it was sleep paralysis. I was calling for you, but you didn't answer. It scared me for a moment, but I was relieved it was just an illusion."
"Good to know you're fine. I'll check on you in case you start experiencing it again."
She smiled, looking relieved that he cared. It wasn't that he ignored her; he just couldn't hear her. "Thanks, man. Hope you finish that work of yours early. You need sleep too." She cheered, having just woken up. Her bed hair made her look cute, and though he had gotten used to her wearing just short shorts as panties, it had flustered him when they first became roommates.
"That's nice of you. I'm grateful to have you as my roommate." As he said this, her lupo ears perked up and her face turned flustered. Though they were friends, there was no sexual tension between them—just friendship.
She scratched the back of her head and replied, "Y-Yeah, no problem."
He returned to finishing his report. She went to get some water, after she finished drinking water she then jumped back onto her bed and face-planted herself Into it.
He continued humming and turning around occasionally to check on his roommate. After another 2 hours, he finally finished the report. He stretched his arms, grabbed a simple briefcase, and carefully placed the reports inside.
Pushing himself away from the desk, he slid back on his office chair and headed for his bed to get the sleep he had been craving. He got up from the bed after realizing he had left his lamp on. Turning it off, he finally settled in for a good night's sleep, closing his eyes and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
