6:30 in the morning. The alarm clock sounds. As Adam Levine reaches for it with one eye open and one eye shut, he feels a hand reach into his back. He finds the snooze button and looks over at who touched him.
"Goodmorning, Adam" his girlfriend Behati says with a smile on her face and a tray of breakfast in her hands.
Adam tries hard to open his other eye and sits up.
Behati gives him a kiss on his forehead and says, "I'm headed off to work. I'll see you once I get back. I love you" she walks out the room and Adam just sits there. A blank stare. He had felt empty for no apparent reason. He felt like something was missing.
For the past two months of Adam and Behati's relationship he had felt the same way. He had been sad and felt nothing. He thought he needed more in his life.
Adam gets up, leaving his tray of breakfast on the bed, and he walks into the bathroom and stares at himself in the mirror. After a good minute he noticed he looked desolated and tried to smile and look cheerful.
He couldn't. No matter how much he tried to keep the smile going, it just faded away. He needed more. He needed someone else....
