It was 1:00 a.m. and you sat outside, thinking and counting stars. You were sitting by the edge of your pool and you felt the urge to jump in. Fully clothed, you put your phone a safe distance away and did just that. The cold water was a shock but you smiled. You stayed under the water until you couldn't take it any longer. As you climbed out you relished the feeling of being weighed down, the absence of numbness. You finally felt something and your smile slowly faded. You realized that you had started crying, hot tears trailing all over your face.
-What is he doing right now?
***
Jimin had burned himself out. He'd done everything he could think of to get you off of his mind. Now, laying sprawled on his bed, he gave up. He thought of why he ever thought leaving for good, was a good idea. You and Jimin fought alot. Neither of you thought before you spoke most of the time. He couldn't even remember why you'd fought the last time. He punched his pillow when he thought about what he'd said. He would never forget those words.
"Y/N, I can't do this anymore! We're done. I'm done. I don't want you, and I don't need you."
He remebered the sinking feeling that had settled as soon as he left your house that day. You hadn't seen or talked to each other for almost 4 weeks.
-How did things even get like this?
-It feels like forever...does she even miss me?
- I just want to hold her
Jimin checked the time. 1:15 a.m. He knew you'd be awake, since you rarely slept at night. He stared at the call button for a long time before deciding you probably wouldn't answer. Jimin stood up and ran his fingers through his hair. He quickly changed his clothes and slipped out into the night.
-I have to see her
***
You'd gone inside and changed long ago but your hair was still damp. You had just put in your favorite movie when you thought you heard something outside. You peeked out the window. A figure was walking toward your front door. You walked over and flipped the porch light on. Standing on your tip toes you strained to see the face of your visiter.
-Wait, Jimin??
You stood, heart pounding, with your hand on the door knob. Outside, Jimin's mouth went dry as he thought of what to say. His hand shook as he knocked. The door opened and you stared at each other. Jimin opened his mouth and then closed it again. You shook your head slightly and spoke. "What are you doing here?" You'd intended to sound cool and indifferent but your voice wavered. "I just wanted to see you. Can I come in?" You stepped aside and he came in, brushing your arm. You closed the door and turned, only to find yourself pushed against it. Jimin's hands were on either side of you and he was looking straight into your eyes.
"Y/N, I miss you. I can't stop thinking about you. I've been miserable without you. I love you, Y/N. I'm so sorry. I need you." Jimin had started crying before he'd even finished speaking and he pleaded with you through blurred vision. You didn't say a word, you just hugged him and buried your face in his shoulder. He held you tightly and minutes ticked by but neither of you moved. He finally pulled away, only to kiss you softly. "I really love you, Y/N. Please always be by my side." You looked up at him. "I will be. I promise."
