Ryujin stopped in her tracks and looked back, noticing that the cat was there in the middle of the street, trying to get up, but its injured paw wouldn't allow it. Meanwhile Yeji's tail and also the hairs on her ears were standing on end, something was not right for her.
"Let's go, Ryujin..." Yeji whispered to her, holding onto her waist tightly. "Let's go home."
But Ryujin couldn't stop looking at the poor cat, who would most likely be run over by another car or bike. The best thing was to take it to a nearby veterinarian to be treated. Plus its meowing was very loud, which meant that it was probably suffering.
"Wait for me here." Ryujin took Yeji's hands and moved them away from her stomach, getting off the bike, before any car approached.
Fortunately, the streets weren't very busy.
Ryujin took the cat in her arms and walked to the bike again, where Yeji had gotten off, seconds after her.
"Ryujin-" Yeji tried to say, but Ryujin cut her off.
"Hold the cat. Let's take it to a vet to get it treated." Ryujin told her quickly, but Yeji took a step back, while she looked into the cat's yellow eyes intently.
"No." Yeji said shaking her head and Ryujin scowled at her.
"What? No? What do you mean by no?" Ryujin tried to approach her again, but Yeji shook her head. "Yeji, this is not the time for jealousy, you must help me, the cat could be about to die because of me."
Yeji looked into Ryujin's eyes for several seconds, afraid that the short-haired girl might get angry to her, but what she feared most was the cat's big eyes, that were staring at her, after it had already stopped meowing.
"Yeji?" Seeing that the cat girl did not move, she rolled her eyes and took her bag, where she carried some things that her mother had given her and opened the zipper to put the cat in there.
She then got on the bike and waited for Yeji to do so, but she didn't seem to want to move from the spot. Ryujin turned to look at her.
"Yeji? Come up, let's go. We should take him or her now."
The orange-haired woman opened her mouth to try to say something, but she didn't know exactly what she should say. She didn't know what she was feeling when she was close to that cat and she was afraid that something might happen, so she decided to stay silent and get on the bike seconds later.
Yeji tried not to think too much about what was happening, she didn't even want to glance at Ryujin's bag. So, she just closed her eyes, tightening her arms around Ryujin, while the short-haired girl didn't have the slightest idea why the cat girl was behaving like that.
Ryujin looked for the nearest veterinary clinic in the area, where she quickly entered, carrying the black cat that she had run over a few minutes ago.
"It'll be okay, right?" Ryujin asked the man that was checking the black cat out.
"Yeah, he'll be fine. I'm just going to bandage him up and you has to give him a lot of food, because he's a little thin." The man said, while Yeji looked at the cat, from a few meters behind Ryujin.
"Well, he's not mine, I just found him on the street and-"
"Well, I recommend that you give him shelter at your house for a few days, at least, until he fully recovers. Fortunately, it was only his hind paw."
Ryujin nodded, knowing that she had no choice but to help the cat, since, she had been the culprit of the fracture, while Yeji didn't seem to agree with this at all.
Arriving home, almost half an hour after the vet finished doing the procedure on the cat's paw, Yeji immediately ran into the room and closed the door behind her.
