I don't want to babble too much because this chapter's long enough as it is. Just know I'm so excited to get started on this story! It tackles topics I'm personally invested in [such as the fate of small businesses, surfing, dealing with the magnitude of grief, coastal towns, and the power of teamwork] and I'd cry an ocean if it were to flop, haha.

If you'd like to be part of the story and decide to submit a character . . .
✧ 1. |. . . you agree to contribute a somewhat significant part to shaping this story. That means I require you to be active in the conceptual stage of the story: REW relies heavily on character opinions in order to become intriguing. So if you submit a character and they get accepted, I expect you to do character opinions. If you struggle to write them, whether that's now or later on, always let me know and we'll find a way to figure it out. I'd also appreciate it if you'd vote on the chapters at least.
✧ 2. | . . . you're encouraged to make authentic characters. You don't need to write manic pixie dream girls / boys; just make sure you're not working with overused tropes such as Broccoli-Haired Fuckboys, Petite x Shy Ballerinas and Nice White Girls Who's Only Flaw Is Their Selflessness. Don't be afraid to give your characters real flaws [like irresponsibility], ticks, melanin, acne, struggles with their sexual orientation, insecurities, unusual interests [or super basic, average, boring ones like going grocery shopping or driving their car], disorders, embarrassing guilty pleasures, and nuances!
✧ 3. | . . . you're free to submit rejected characters you made for a different applyfic. Just make sure to adjust their character form to mine.
✧ 4. | . . . you're not going to be rude to anybody. I suppose this is needless to say since we should all be grown up enough to keep our negative thoughts to ourselves.
✧ 5. | . . . don't be shy. If you have questions, concerns, or just the urge to talk / comment, you're free to do so. I don't want anybody to feel like a stranger or out of place. :)
