When Martinez came to his senses, he was in a dimly lit room, his head throbbing in pain. He tried to sit up, but a sharp ache shot through his skull, forcing him back onto the cold, concrete floor.
As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw Maya standing over him, her expression unyielding. "Welcome back, Attorney," she said, her voice devoid of warmth. "You've been asleep for a while."
Martinez struggled to his feet, his mind racing with questions. "Why did you bring me here? What do you want from me?"
Maya's gaze never wavered. "You're in this too deep, Martinez. You need to be protected."
"Protected from what?" Martinez demanded, his anger rising.
Maya's smile was icy. "From the truth. From yourself."
And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving Martinez alone in the darkness, his mind reeling with confusion and fear...
He sat up yelling in a low voice " hey wait up.. you...Traitor.. lady, I guess"
While Maya closed the door.Martinez pressed his head and leaned on the wall behind "Ouch!" He stated "is it my doomsday today? Why the heck am I surrounded by ' psychopaths ' from the morning" he sighed and thought "she's right I am useless from the morning that I had to be protected.... I am afraid?.. afraid??" He clenched his jaw and yelled "you're right okay... I am done with this, I hate to be confused, yet no matter how much I use my brain, I don't understand a single thing that's happening, now just get in and don't dare to piss me off..." He panted.
The room was engulfed with silence, soon the door cracked open, "you sure can speak a lot." Maya entered.....
She sat in the chair beside him asking "you sure an agent from the FIA?"
"Why?"
"Cause you don't even use your brain, alright who cares... You want to know why they are behind you?"
"Ofcourse"
"Cause you dug into their history so deep!" Her words were cold.
"I don't understand, no matter how hard I think, nothing matches up"
"That's only when you mix everything..." She leaned forward and smiled " why don't you try to match everything,"
"Huh..?"
"You found the survivor inside the house didn't you? So tell me what it cost?"
"My.. my comrades.. died" he hesitated
"See, and you went too deep didn't you?" Her eyes were locked on to him.
" But why did the people who didn't visit it die and I am alive?" Martinez insisted
"Well... That may be your luck.." she smiled
"Luck?"
"You see they are a cult, Martinez... And that's how they work...."Maya's words trailed off, leaving Martinez with a chilling realization. He felt like he was trapped in a web of deceit and conspiracy, with no escape.
"A cult?" Martinez repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. "What do you mean? What cult?"
Maya leaned back in her chair, her eyes never leaving Martinez's face. "The Order of the Snake and Skull. They've been hiding in plain sight, pulling the strings from behind the scenes. And you, Attorney, have stumbled into their playground."
Martinez's mind raced with questions, but before he could ask any, Maya continued.
"They're a powerful organization, with roots in ancient rituals and human manipulation. They'll stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried. And you, my dear Attorney, have become a liability."
Martinez felt a cold sweat trickling down his spine. He was in over his head, and he knew it.
"What do they want from me?" he asked, his voice shaking slightly.
Maya's smile grew wider. "Oh, they want to make you one of them. And if you refuse... well, let's just say you won't be the first to disappear."
The room fell silent once more, the only sound of Martinez's heavy breathing. He knew he had to think fast, or risk becoming the next victim of the Order's sinister plans...
Maya's eyes gleamed with a knowing light. "Ah, yes. The Sinners. A cult that worships the darkness within. They believe that by embracing their deepest fears and desires, they can gain ultimate power."
Martinez's mind raced with the implications. "And what's their connection to the burned house? To the survivor?"
Maya's voice dropped to a whisper. "The Sinners are led by a charismatic figure known only as 'The Confessor'. He's rumored to have the power to absolve sins, but at a terrible cost. The survivor, Kalix, was one of his most devoted followers. But something went horribly wrong, and Kalix was left with a conscience, a conscience that drove him to try and expose The Confessor's true nature."
Martinez felt a chill run down his spine. "And the burned house? Was that some sort of ritual?"
Maya nodded. "A cleansing ritual, meant to purify The Sinners of their doubts and fears. But it went wrong, and the house was left a charred reminder of their dark deeds."
The room fell silent once more, the weight of Maya's words hanging heavy in the air. Martinez knew he had to act fast, to stop The Confessor and The Sinners before they claimed more innocent lives...
Martinez's mind started to work, he recalled every piece to put it into the right order, he closed his eyes, suddenly he remembered the stare of surprise he saw at Kalix... He focused more into it and a voice murmured.... 'help me..!' and suddenly the scenario changed and recalled Maya's words 'Cause you dug into their history too deep!' A sudden jolt of reality stuck him, he turned and asked the sleek doubt that raised " how do you know so much?"
Maya's smile was cold,
Suddenly the door slammed open, and Kalix popped up, he sighed asking "I can't believe you trusted someone who hit you with a rod!""Shit!" Martinez turned "can you not hit me in my head again!"
"Oh of course" Maya went near to him and gave a shot in his ballsMartinez was nearly in his knees with pain in his voice "even my head wouldn't have ached so much!!"
And Maya kicked him hard on his face....
