"come on KENMA she's a beauty! how are you not mesmerized?" yamamoto shouted as he put away the net in the storage room.

"she's just my classmate" kenma replied quietly.

fukunaga stared at the two and helped clean up. he didn't say much but he knew what was going on.

(l/n) (f/n) was a second year just like them. she was a kind-hearted soul who was also called a ray of sunshine by everyone. (hinata whatre u doing here)

she had no problem talking to anyone but 3 months ago, kenma's class had their seat change and she was sitting right next to the setter. she wasn't sure how to talk to him or approach him.

this was seen by classmates and as any high school student would do, they started gossiping. which is how the volleyball team was informed that kenma was involved with a girl. this bothered yamamoto especially since he would chop his mohawk off to be in kenma's position.

as the clock hit 9, the boys started to head home and kenma was packing his belongings. he realized kuroo had not left yet so he decided to pull out his game and waited for him in front of the school gate.

meanwhile in the locker rooms

"okay my sister got these aquarium tickets but she had to cancel so she gave them to me," lev said as he put down the two tickets.

"lev you're a genius for once" yaku intervened.

"there's no way kenma would ask her out on a date" kuroo chimed in.

"cmon let's believe in him," kai said

the volleyball team had been trying to set kenma and (y/n) together for a while now ever since the seat change. they believed this was the setter's only chance to get a girlfriend since he was so antisocial.

"okay kuroo-san we'll be counting on you to give these to him!" lev exclaimed.

"what? why me? you're the one with the tickets."

"but he's definitely gonna know what's going on if i give it to him!" the silver head said.

kuroo sighed and grabbed the two tickets.

the whole team looked at their captain and bowed.

"we're counting on you"

kenma was starting to get annoyed. he had been waiting for 10 minutes and he was ready to go home. he heard his childhood friend's footsteps get closer and closer.

"what took so long?" he said with furrowed eyebrows.

"sorry i was going over tomorrow's practice routine with the others" kuroo said trying to hide the fact that the whole team was involved in kenma's potential love life.

the pudding head did not respond and kept his eyes on his gaming device.

"so, what's the real reason?" kenma knew kuroo was lying.

the captain sighed and scratched his head.

"um, here's two aquarium tickets. i don't think i have time to go so just take them." kuroo said awkwardly.

"isn't it more of you don't have anyone to go with?" the setter replied. (i would GLADY go with kuroo but ok)

kenma took the tickets and muttered a small thank you.

-the day after-

as the school chime went off, it was time for practice. yamamoto was curious whether or not kenma would ever ask a girl out on a date. he marched into kenma's class and looked for the pudding head.
