'Sister of mine, would you like to help me with something?' asked Zane, looking at his room which was full of junk.
'No way! You made your room come to this dump; then you can clean it up yourself. Go, Go, get started!' she giggled as she walked to her room.
'Uh! I'd better get started, for sure, or I'll never get done.' Zane sighed deeply and began. One can and piece of paper after another he stuffed into a large bag. He also found some old toys that he had lost for years but had just completely forgotten existed.
After a long cleanup among all the junk and debris, he suddenly came across an old crystal necklace. He took hold of it but noticed that it was only the pendant. The inside was not there; nor did he know if there ever was an inside.
'Where would that be now?' asked Zane, scratching his head. He walked over to Didi to ask if she might know.
'Didi, do you know where I might find the rest of this pendant?'
'No idea, maybe in the garage? Mom puts everything there that she thinks may be gone.'
Quickly Zane ran downstairs and searched and searched in the garage. Suddenly he came across a small pink gem. And strange but true, it fits inside. But a lot of them were still missing. He decided to search for where the other parts might be, from the top shelf to under the seat.
He kept searching, even though he knew he wouldn't be successful. He didn't want to give up, not now anyway. In his room, he decided to inspect the jewel a little more closely. He took out a magnifying glass and looked at the detailed pendant.
'Zane, are you coming for dinner!' called Carissa, Zane's mother, who was at the bottom of the stairs waiting for an answer.
'Yes yes, I'll be right there.'
'Don't linger too long in your room, or your food will be cold. It's spaghetti carbonara, your favorite!' Immediately Zane dropped the hanger on his desk and almost flew down the stairs to his chair, ready to eat his delicious spaghetti.
'You have to wait five more minutes though, it's almost ready,' Zane's mother said, already washing some dishes.
'You said it was going to be cold if I didn't come down, right? I thought it would be ready already?' said Zane angrily, staring disappointedly at his mother.
At that moment Didi came downstairs; she was busy working on her sketch for the fashion show The Enchanted Forest, which she was very eager to help with. She looked up for a moment but just continued sketching.
'Why are you already downstairs? Normally you are always in your room?' she asked, not even looking up and just continuing sketching.
'No, Motherlove called, but apparently, my food isn't ready yet,' he said, looking at Carissa sternly.
'This is not my fault though, normally it always takes you an hour to get downstairs. But enough with the argument, the food is ready!' she said, placing everything on the table. Everyone ate and enjoyed themselves as they struck up a chat.
'Uh, I had asked Noah to do my homework, but he said no. So now there's only one more thing I can do!' said Zane, feeling disappointed, but also happy.
'Making it myself?' asked Didi, slurping up a spirelli.
'Pff, no, I'm looking for someone online to make it for me. I'm not stupid though.'
'Maybe a little, if you can't make it yourself.' Zane looked at her angrily, but did nothing; he continued eating without a word.
After eating, he ran to his room and closed his door. He wanted to look at his phone, but the jewel sparkled in the corner of his eye. He took hold of it to study it again.
Suddenly his sister pounded on the door.
'Zane, open up, you have to help me.'
'Can't that wait? I'm busy,' Zane asked whining.
'No, it can't. I can't find my sketches anywhere anymore! I had put them on the kitchen table and now they're gone! Can you help me look?' asked Didi, who was standing in front of a closed door with tears in her eyes.
Zane opened the door and decided to help her. He decided to look at a trash can, in case Mom might have thrown them away. Once he looked at the trash can, he saw the shredder next to it. In it were small pieces of white paper with pencil lines on them.
'Uh, Didi? What had you made those sketches with?' he asked, as she walked toward him.
'With pencil? Why?' she asked, walking toward him.
'Uh, well ... I found them, I think.'
'Oh my god, what happened to my sketches? Who did this!' said Didi crying, holding the scraps of paper in her hands. Carissa came downstairs with a big laundry basket.
'MAMA! Why are there sketches of me in the shredder?' asked Didi with tears in her eyes.
'Child anyway, I thought you didn't need them anymore. I'm very sorry! Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?'
Didi looked at her angrily and stormed upstairs without saying a word.
