I was home, it was late and i was reading my new book half asleep, my wife was watching a program on late night television, it was only us because my daughter was at her friends house for a sleepover. My wife's show was interrupted by a breaking news announcement "NEW VIRUS OUTBREAK STAY INSIDE AT ALL COSTS" She shook my awake in a frantic pain explaining everything that was on the news and that we had to go get my daughter from her friends house. Then i heard it....... the most blood-curdling stomach-curling scream ever so i grabbed my gun and keys and ran for my car we got in and drove to my daughters friends house. On the drive over i had time to think, this wasn't no normal virus outbreak not when people are screaming and frantically fleeing town. When we arrived i noticed the front door was slightly open and from what was open i could see blood i said to my wife "stay back i see blood" i followed that up in a louder voice to shout inside the house "My name is Adam Oldens Ex-Marine and i am armed" i entered the house with caution then i heard banging on a door on the left hand side of the house then i heard the door break down. Then i seen it the 6'4, 200lbs beast of a man, my daughters friends dad.... but its just that he wasnt the same, he was walking weirdly and groaning constantly and he was covered in blood then i noticed my daughters torn apart body in the middle of the living room floor, i thought to myself... that crazy bastard killed her. I dropped to my knees but before i knew it that "thing" was almost on top of me, i managed to move just in time. I told him to stop coming towards me but he didnt listen, i gave him a final warning then i shot him through the chest... he was still coming... so i shot again in the same place blowing a hole right through his chest but he was still coming so i shot him in the head splattering his brain all over the wall behind him and covering me in blood i then heard a crash from the kitchen and it was charlotte my daughters friends mum charging at me with a kitchen knife she screamed "YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND, IM GONNA FUCKING GUT YOU". She almost stabbed me but i managed to slap her hand up but the knife did slit underneath my eye, i noticed a body in the kitchen... a small body a child's body then i realised that crazy thing killed his own daughter too. I went over to examine his body and i noticed a bite taken out of his forearm then i heard groaning, i looked at my daughter and she was twitching then before i knew it she was on top of my trying to rip out my throat with her teeth i heard my wife scream as she ran towards me and pulled my daughter off of me and threw her towards the wall, i owe my life to her. I then knew what i had to do and i did it without hesitance because i knew what would happen if i didnt i had to shoot my daughter in the head to prevent her from attacking me and my wife, i was covered in blood by this point my wife broke down in tears but i knew this wasnt over and i had to stay strong for her i started to walk towards her then i seen it, one of those "things" behind her before i could react it had already bit her and started pulling her apart i shot it but i miss aimed and shot my wife with the same bullet killing them both broke down to my knees i sat there for a minute.... i couldn't take it i put the gun to my head and pulled the trigger *click*
