Kitty Elvira:

I stood in front of the awfully small brick building that had a small sign in the front of it that read, Slaughterville Hospital.

Why someone would actually name their town Slaughterville, I will never know.

Why people would even want to live in a town called Slaughterville, I will also never know.

I couldn't help but laugh, Nathaniel's got a crush on a girl who lives in Slaughterville. Even though he didn't come outright and say he liked Kallie, I was 99.99 percent sure she had to be someone important.

"I can't believe I let you drag me along. What are we even doing here?" Paige muttered, gripping the handle of her bag. "And in the middle of god knows where!"

I glanced at her, almost forgetting she was there. "We're here to meet someone who could change my life."

"Can we just check into a hotel first?" She whined, fanning herself with a piece of paper.

"Fine." I glanced at the hospital and breathed a small sigh, "We'll come back."

She nodded eagerly, "Right after we eat."

I rolled my eyes as she stared at me with big brown hopeful eyes. "Just make sure we come back before the hospital closes tonight."

"Kitty you called me less than 5 hours ago to book you a flight. And instead of taking your private plane, you made me rush everything and get us both a plane ticket. I was in such a hurry I forgot to eat!"

I let out a small laugh, "You ate on the plane. What are you even talking about?"

"That was a snack!" She defended, crossing her arms over her chest. "It doesn't even count."

"Whatever you say." I teased, twirling the keys to the car around my finger.

She rolled her eyes and snatched the key from me, "Hey! You should be grateful you have such an amazing, gorgeous, understanding, independent manager like me. I'm the full fucking package. . . you got lucky."

"You forgot humble," I muttered sarcastically.

She laughed and flicked her hair over her shoulder, "Why thank you, boss. I do try."

I shook my head and snatched the keys back, "Let's just go eat."

The whole ride she kept pestering me about what we were doing here until I finally gave in and told her that I was getting married.

"You're what?!" She shrieked.

"Yup." I drawled out with a tired nod, "I'm getting married."

She stared at me expectantly, waiting for me to continue. "Well keep talking. Who is the lucky man that's finally tying you down?"

"He's not really anyone important." I lied smoothly, "Hopefully, I might not even be getting married."

She gaped at me in horror, "Who even hopes that they don't get married!"

"Okay I know it sounded bad but it's actually really not. I'm merely an instrument in the hands about to bring two people together." I defended, hoping she would jump on board the Kitty train and allow herself to be used as an instrument as well.

Instead, she stubbornly shook her head, "I wanna know who he is."

"He's a nobody." I repeated, casting her a sideways glance, "Like nobody even knows him because he's a nobody. Like he's all the way at the bottom of the. . . food chain?"

"Bullshit." She said completely unconvinced.

"Well, it's not. Okay? I'm being 100% honest." I muttered, lying through my teeth.
