FRIDAY NIGHT
I got home before everyone else did. I parked the Kia in the same place Henry left it and made my way swiftly inside. I entered the bathroom, forgetting to lock the door.

I stared at myself in the mirror. I had blood running down from my nose and somehow a small cut on my cheek. Sighing I look down. What have I done? What if Henry finds out?

What if Henry finds out all I am is just a criminal?

All this time i've been trying to gaslight myself into thinking I'm a good person. I splash my face trying to get all the guilt and blood off of me. I don't care I've beat people tonight, I regret the fact that Henry might find out what I've done.

The water turns brown as it drips off of my face.

The door creaks open, "Ahah, just gotta take a dump," Micheal laughs opening the door looking behind him at Ian, who is in front of the bathroom door nodding, finishing off their conversation.

My chest tightens as I react faster than Micheal even realising I was in here. I leave the tap running while I sprung up pulling Micheal forward so he's out of the doors way; Then slamming it splat in Ian's face.

Micheal wrestles himself from my weak grip and looks up at me.
"What's happened to your face?" He questions me.
"Nothing."
Murmuring goes on the other side of the door.
"Will?" Henry's voice peeps out.
"I'm fine." I shh Micheal, I don't bother trying to wash the rest of the blood off, I turn off the tap and stuff my face into a towel. Henry enters before I could check myself to see if I'm clean.

"Will??" Henry startles himself.
"I don't know what happened, he's acting so weird!" Micheal leans on the wall.
"I'm fine," I tell them while pulling the towel away from my face and rushing out the bathroom. I knew to get out of this situation quickly because I haven't had the time to think of a lie.

I go outside to get a quick breath of fresh air.
"I fell over on the old laid out bricks while looking at the birds."
I repeat to myself. The bricks are on the side of the house, located on the outside wall of the kitchen and lounge room, beyond the bricks is a line of trees, all very tall; Allowing the lie to pass because if I were to look at the birds my head would have to be tilted up!, looking away from all the cracks in the bricks and the ones sticking out of the ground from erosion.
"Will!" Henry calls. "Please come into the living room."
I reassure myself that my lie will easily pass.
"Yes?" I ask entering the lounge room.
Henry leaps up with a damp towel and gently presses it on my face.
"What happened?" He asks worried.
You fell over outside, You fell over outside.
"I fell over outside looking at the birds," I chuckle. "I was just embarrassed over the fact I tripped over the bricks."
"Awww Will," Henry laughs, "There's nothing to be embarrassed about," He dampens my face even where there isn't any blood. My body feels warm every time he touches me. I smile looking down at him, he focuses on helping me.

The awesome smell of dinner touches my nose. We all stumble and push past each other to then meet Henry's father in the kitchen. He cooked up tomato soup for all of us. All of us meet at the table sitting down in a polite manner while Charlotte complains how hungry she is.

I blow on my spoonful of hot tomato soup.
"What did you do all day?" Henry directs the question toward me.
"Oh, nothing much," I reply remembering I haven't created any lie or just in case, have an alibi.
"I noticed you must've used my car," Henry chuckled.
"Oh aha," I look down at my soup, thoughts run through my head,
I went to the shops.
No.
I went to the park? What park would I go to? No.
"Where did you go?" Henry asks innocently.
Lies still circle around my head.
"Uhh you know.." I trail off.
Henry looks at me, expecting an answer.
"I went to our old hangout spot," I finally answered.
"Oh, I didn't see you there?" Henry sipped his soup.
Fuck. They were there? Shit.
"Oh, you must've missed me. I was only there for a little while," I nod.
"We were there almost the whole day," Henry ponders, "What time did you get there?"
My blood runs cold.
"I don't recall the time, I just felt bored and chose to get out of the house."
"Ah ok," Henry replies.

Good fucking job William, you almost caught red handed.
