(chapter three: bloodlines)
Little darlin', the smile's returning to their faces
Little darlin', it seems like years since it's been here୨୧・┈┈・୨୧
"Are you sure you still had it? Couldn't you have taken it off at home?" Olivia asked her father as the two of the them looked in every little spot of Alaric's car to find a ring her mother gave to him. It wasn't a beautiful ring but her gifting it to him was what made the ring beautiful.
"I'm sure, Livy." Her father answered as he sighed looking in the backseat of the car, before closing the door again and going back to his seat in the front.
"Hey, Olivia. Mr.Saltzman." Jeremy greeted as he saw the two Saltzman's standing by the car.
Olivia's hand barely appeared above the car, waving at him as she looked through the glove box, finding absolutely nothing that even looked remotely like a ring.
"Hey, Jeremy." Alaric greeted the boy but continued to search for his ring. "I can't find my ring. I took it off for the gym and thought I put it" Her father looked at the ground of the car and saw the black ring laying on it. "there it is. Losing family heirlooms, bad."
The Gilbert boy let out a chuckle.
"How's your extra credit? Pick a topic?" Olivia's father asked him as Olivia finally made her way out of the car, her bag hanging around her shoulder.
"Mystic Falls, the Civil War era."
"What's the angle?" Alaric asked.
"My family. I found a journal of an ancestor who lived in the 1800s. And the Gilberts were one of the original Founding Families of Mystic Falls, so." Jeremy explained and Olivia saw her dad look at Jeremy, interested, but she completely forgot about that when Stefan joined her side.
"That sounds good." She heard her father reply to the Gilbert as Stefan stepped closer to his mate.
"How's your head, Liv?" Stefan asked worriedly. Since he was taller than her he could see over her head at the place Logan had knocked her out last night.
"Better. It's still hurting a bit but I'll be fine." She replied as she waved goodbye to her dad and Jeremy before walking away with Stefan.
Stefan wished he could heal her, so his mate wouldn't be in pain. However, if he did that, it would mean telling her the truth. Yes, he could compell her to forget but he didn't want to manipulate her mind. She deserved better than that. And even if he healed her, his blood would be in her system and if something were to happen then, he couldn't even think about giving her the same life as him without her consent.
Kind of like he had done to Damon. Stefan just couldn't just risk it.
"Caroline is there." Olivia said, pointing to her blonde friend who was joined by Matt. A bit ahead of these two she saw a worried Ben whispering to Bonnie.
She had been wanting to know how Caroline was doing after last night.
"Olivia! Oh my God! You're okay!" Said the blonde, quickly hugging her new friend. She had been quite worried about Olivia as well.
She had no idea why she had been as worried as she had been. Caroline had never been this worried about someone she just met. But she found that it was for a good reason.
"I'm glad to see you're doing fine, Caroline." Olivia said, not noticing that Benjamin took Stefan away as they were talking.
Stefan had been quiet content to hear that someone had killed Logan. He didn't have to get his hand dirty with scum and the bastard was dead. He had wanted to hurt Logan for what he did to Olivia but that was to late now.
Bonnie joined them. "Caroline told me what happened. Are you okay?" The Bennett asked in worry.
"I'm fine." Olivia answered but then she noticed something. "Where's Elena?"
Caroline had told her Bonnie and Elena were almost always together.
"I have no idea." Bonnie lied, throwing a look in the two vampires their direction.
"I need your help." Benjamin said as he had taken Stefan away from his mate, which was rather harder to do than the Fell had suspected.
"With what?" Stefan asked, still keeping his eye on Olivia.
"Elena. She is with Damon."
"Why?" Stefan asked, wondering why Elena would be with his brother.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe because she looks exactly like Katherine." Ben told him. His girlfriend had called him last night, telling him about it and how she had found the picture of Katherine from 1864 before he had heard a crash. Even though he already knew she looked like her doppelgänger.
"Doesn't explain why she is with Damon." Stefan said, wanting to get back to his mate. Elena looked like Katherine so the chance that Damon would kill her was little.
"She was in a car accident and now she is somewhere because Damon took her with him. And I have no idea where she is now." Ben added worriedly.
"Then call Damon. I think you have more chance on an honest answer if you ask him rather than I. " Stefan spoke, honestly. His brother was still mad at him for turning him , which he got now."Right as if I haven't tried that. I even asked Bonnie but her witch powers are not working for some reason."
"Then there's nothing to do until she comes back." Ben gave him a look of unbelief. "You can't start looking in every town of the city to search for her. Just try to call her again. And I'll try Damon, who's probably not gonna answer." Stefan suggested as he took out his phone.
And he was right. Damon did not pick up the phone. "I'm sure she is fine." Stefan spoke, but Ben didn't seem to believe him. "Listen, I get that you're worried, but we can't do anything until one of them returns their calls."
"Shit." Ben cursed before walking away from the Salvatore. And luckily Stefan was right. Elena returned home later that day, perfectly fine.
Very short chapter, more like a filler chapter but anyway it was the episode were Damon and Elena are in Georgia!
