"Do you think your brother still trying to find Katherine?" Olivia asked as she and her boyfriend stood together by her locker so that she can put some of her books inside of it that she wouldn't need anymore.

It was the girl's first day back at school since coming back home from Trudie's funeral a few days ago. And that the girl was still pissed at Damon would be an understatement.

"I don't know. He waited a hundred and forty-five years only to find out that Katherine could not care less. I mean it's gotta hurt, right?" Stefan said.

"Maybe this heartache will be good for him. It'll remind him that he has a heart, even if it doesn't beat. Maybe he actually doesn't have a heart? It would explain a lot of things. The selfish git." Olivia spoke as she closed her locker with a slam.

"You have every reason to be upset with him. Have you thought any more about what you're going to do?" Stefan asked her and the girl knew what he was talking about.

"My mom, who turned into a vampire and who is related to mine and Elena's vampire ancestor Katherine, who is your 'ex' and the one who screwed over your arrogant vampire brother? No, I haven't given it a thought at all." Olivia spoke with sarcasm as she thought back at how she had called her mother a week ago on the phone of the dead man, and how her mother had just ended the call when she heard Olivia's voice.

The words spoken by Isobel had been repeating in her mind over and over again ever since she heard them come out of her mother's mouth.

Stefan gave his mate a small smile, telling her that he was understanding how she was feeling. And he wouldn't blame her for hating Damon, either. He was the person who took her mom away from her. It would concern him if she didn't hate him for it. Even he himself was questioning  if it was still worth all the trouble and energy to get Damon to talk to him, it backfired on them every time anyway

The only thing he got in return was his mate getting hurt every single time. And if that happened once more, Stefan was sure he would loose his mind.

He thought he had seen her hurt before, but when she had broken down with Trudie and her father, Stefan felt his heart breaking for her, even though it doesn't even beat. "I'm sorry I brought it up." He apologized.

Olivia shook her head. "It's not your fault, Stef." Even though she blamed Damon for everything going wrong right now, she didn't blame Stefan in the slightest.

"I'm  thinking nothing huge, just a dinner at the grill maybe a late movie." Caroline said as she stood in front of the two couples, proposing the idea she had come up with earlier this morning.
