A/N: this is mostly 7k+ words of Worstthrust fluff and angst. Enjoy!
______Bobby Worst hadn't always been the famous rockstar people oh so loved and adored all over the world. He was once an ordinary person, too!
Well, as ordinary as a person could be after enduring a shitty childhood, fatherly abuse, and the loss of his beloved mother.
At a very early age, Bobby sadly had to learn how life wasn't always fair. No matter how nice he acted towards all the other kids his age, they'd always see and treat him as an outsider, being called “weird” or a “freak” just because of the white streaks sticking out in contrast to his natural jet black hair. Then there was the fact his own father barely gave a shit about him. The older man actually made it very clear that he was a mistake, and that the only reason Bobby was allowed to stay under his roof was because of his mother, who earned more from her music gigs than a man coaching kids at school. His parents never married, but they both agreed to live in the same house together for their son's sake – not that it helped their situation in the slightest. Bobby's father was a strict and disciplined man, meanwhile his mother was a free-spirited woman who enjoyed performing and sharing her music with everyone who was willing to listen. They were just two polar opposites who happened to get drunk one night and ended up with a mistake/miracle nine months later.
Between the two parents, Bobby was obviously closer to his mother. She was the only person at the time who truly understood him. Whenever he felt down, she knew exactly what to do to cheer him up: she'd sing to him.
Bobby would be snuggled up in bed with his eyes closed as he listened to the gentle strumming of his mother's guitar, followed by the sound of her sweet melodic voice.
“Hush now, my young star,
This song is for you,Hush now, my brave star,
You'll always pull through,You're a wonderful sight,
A spark and twinkle of light,I'll never be far,
So long as you are,
Here in memory, infinite melody,
Forever always in my heart.”Bobby was four when he heard the sound of sirens passing by his house.
But it wasn't until the clock struck quarter to five that it really truly dawned on him.
Despite staying up past his bedtime and desperately hoping that things were going to be alright, young Bobby knew that life wasn't fair enough to offer him that assurance.
His mother was never coming home.
And the worst part of it all?
His father refused to tell him why.

By the age of five, Bobby's father forced him to start attending school. The young boy didn't want to, of course, but after being bought a wig to hide his hair, Bobby begrudgingly acquiesced, believing that it might help stop the name-calling and mean looks.
It didn't, unfortunately.
And to top it all off, Bobby had to address his father by “Coach Best” and pretend that he wasn't his son whilst they were within the school zone. As if calling him a “mistake” and “disappointment” wasn't bad enough.
He hated every minute of being in that hellish prison.
But it all changed the moment he met her.
Bryce Tankthrust was a newly transferred student at his school. She was rich, popular, and everyone absolutely adored her. Bobby knew straight away that he was out of her league, but it never stopped him from having a big ‘ol crush on the short haired diva. During recess, he'd be sitting by the swings and strumming on the toy guitar he borrowed from his music class. He didn't know what chords he was playing just yet, but it didn't really matter. His heart was filled with music again! After three years of silence since he'd lost his mother, the beating of his heart now thumped with a rhythm that made him feel alive again, and it was all because of–
