Ozzy

It's been a crazy couple of days. I was sitting in the station kitchen and my partner in crime, Leo, who was looking through the fridge to see if anything was available. He the type of person that just munches on something just cause he's bored but thank to our job he's manage to keep a six pack.

"I think we should get a pizza for our lunch", I suggested this mainly because I was tired of prep meals, burgers, sandwiches and bowls and we all have our guilty pleasures.

"Can you get me some Spicy sriracha wings or spicy buffalo, you know what surprised me and extra ranch please" Leo said as he was typing on the tablet

"Does anyone want anything specific from Dominos?"

Julie <3

Hey, would you like to go to a Carnival on Saturday?

Yes! Saturday. What time?

6pm and then we can go to dinner afterwards?

Dinner works.

God I'm so hungry, this science fair prep is cutting into My lunch time but luckily class is over :)

Im at the station and just ordered for that entire team, Come over I'll send you the address

Okay i'll be there in about 30 minutes!

"So who's got you cheesing your phone like that?" Leo stated while wiggling his eyebrows.

"Juliana, walk in from the parlor. She's coming over here so please don't embarrass me!"

He scoffs, "Are you saying that you are embarrassed to be seen with me? Are you ashamed of us?"

"Very."

The food has arrived but I refuse to start eating until Julie gets here. I even made Leo wait for her. He sulks and refuses to talk to me until he cures his hangry condition. Julie texted me letting me know she's here so I went out of the kitchen and into the main area. All of a sudden I see Julie walking in with Ralph who was a FFT (Firefighter trainee) Ralph Lee is a nice kid, truly. They stopped walking and Julie laughs and touches her hand on his shoulder. That prick. How dare he make her laugh.

I walked over there. She looked very beautiful with a white button down top and a tan mid thigh tight skirt. I cleared my throat, "Hey Lee, I think your team captain is calling for you."

"It was nice meeting you Juliana." He walks towards his unit section in the building. It was nice meeting you Juliana. That motherfucker.

"So where is the Pizza I was promised." I grabbed her hand and led her towards the kitchen. I pulled up a chair for her and she sat down and set her stuff beside her. I could feel eyes on us practically the station eyes are glue to us as if we are a new telenovela.

"Hey Sunny, how's the tattoo healing?" Leo waved to her while being the first one to grab his plastic plate and grabbed a slice for himself.

"Sunny?" Julie grabs a plate and two slices. She grabs some parmesan cheese and chili flakes and sprinkle them both on her slices.

"Sunshine is too long, Sunny a good nickname for a nickname?" He dips his pizza in the ranch and starts to eat.

I look over and I see our captain Jackson Grey coming over this way.

"Captain Grey, to what I owe the pleasure?" I fake a smile hoping he would get the hint and go away. Grey has been my captain since the beginning of my career and has seen my highs and lows.

"Well son, I was hoping to be introduced to you friend over here" He also faked a smile. That annoying son of a bitch. He couldn't just let me have this one thing.

"Juliana this is Captain Grey, Grey this is Juliana" They shook hands.

"Well I just wanted to meet the girl who has our resident golden boy smile". Smooth Grey. real smooth.

"Golden boy" She sips on her drink. Leo then says, "It's because he has made it as an engineer or FFS in less than 2 years since his probationary year.

Juliana points towards Leo's badge "You're an Engineer too?"

Leo responds with "Yeah but I'm just an engineer and paramedic while Ozzy over here is a trained paramedic , engineer and certified to drive a helicopter and he kinda outranks me"

Juliana turns to me and playfully pushes my arm, "You some kinda hot shot huh." I laugh, "well depends, if I get lucky with the girl."

"I feel like I'm third-wheeling."

It's evening now I called out to the field about 25 minutes of Julie hanging out with us. I apologized to Julie but she assured me things were fine and that I had nothing to worry about. I told her that it was okay if she went home since some of these missions could go overtime. We arrived back from the restaurant on fire. Mission took us 2over 2 hours since there was a gas leak and we had to help and provide first aid. We were in our unit team meeting room and once we were finished with paperwork and ending today's case, suddenly I looked up to see Grey standing next to me. "You know there is this really pretty brunette who just talked to me about kids field trip who is in our kitchen looking around... might be waiting for someone."

I didn't even bother answering him, I went straight into the kitchen. I saw her writing some stuff down in her notebook and it looked like she was falling asleep.

I put my hand on her shoulder, "Hey, what happened? I told you don't have to wait for me since these could take up a lot of hours." She looked up at me and gave me a smile, "I couldn't help but to feel worried that you might not be coming back." My heart just melted. Most people in my life never really wait sure they worry about me but they just continue out with there day.

"Come on, let's get you home." She packed up her stuff and put her items in her backpack and I grabbed the backpack and started to carry it while holding her hand leading her towards the car.

"I like your uniform." she pointed at me up and down while shamelessly checking me out. I had a black fitted t-shirt that had a small LAFD logo, black cargo pants.

We got inside my car and I drove us to her apartment. It took about 30 minutes to get there. We both get outside my car and I walk Julie to her door. "Hey I'm sorry about getting called to work, being on call rotation I'm usually on busy until the next rotation."

"Don't worry about it." she smiled at me and kissed my cheek, "I'm just happy you made it back." She opens her apartment door and goes inside. I can't wait for our date. Being with her is like a breath of fresh air that I haven't had in a long time.
