"Nene Yashiro, first year at Kamome Academy, is a 15 year old girl who is currently missing." Sakura Nanamine, also a first year, read aloud. "She has been missing for 4 years..." Nanamine said her expression subtly changed as her eyes widened.
"I wonder if she's a ghost then.." Aoi Akane, who's in the same year as Sakura wondered outloud, Aoi was often interested in the weird and unknown. If she wasn't so absolutely gorgeous, she would be looked down on for saying things like this.
"I'm sure she's dead, but calling her a ghost is a bit far." *Sakura put her phone down onto her lap with a sigh and looked back up at Aoi* "Y'know ghosts aren't real, right?" *She looked up at Aoi expectantly, her eyes seemingly glowing in the sunlight*
"Sakura, they could always be real." Aoi moved closer to Sakura and held her hands in her own."You just have to believe in them." She said with a wide smile. Sakura looked at her in shock. She couldn't help but wonder how Aoi was so beautiful.
"You really are a pretty girl, Aoi." Sakura remarked with a flatness to her voice.
"I hear that a lot." Aoi giggled. She pulled out her phone and showed Sakura an article. "This talks about Hanako-San of the toilet. It's said that she can grant wishes."
"Hmmm." Sakura replied as she tried to blow Aoi off. She cared very little about this topic as there wasn't much she really wanted.
"You could get the boy of your dreams to love you back! Just ask Hanako-San!" Aoi exclaimed, excited for her friend. But Sakura kept brushing her off, yet Aoi held her hand tight to make sure she was listening. "Go ask Hanako-San to find you someone, please! You seem so lonely." Aoi pleaded.
Sakura sighed her soft spot for Aoi still remained. "I'll go ask her tomorrow. Text me the article, and I'll follow those steps. Who do you want me to date?" She looked away her face a bit red.
"How about Hyuuga?" Aoi asked, and Sakura immediately raised her hand up.
"Never." She said stubbornly
"Then how about Minamoto?" Aoi asked her, her face pleading. "You're pretty enough for him!" Sakura nodded.
"I guess he'll do." She picked her phone back up and skimmed through the article Aoi sent her. "This seems fairly easy, I'll do it after class tomorrow morning." She assured Aoi.
"Yay! My curfew time is soon so we should start walking home soon." Aoi picked up her bag and started walking away, Sakura quickly followed her.
"Are you sure I'm pretty enough?" Sakura asked, confused by Aoi calling her beautiful. Aoi turned to face her, and she hugged her.
"Acting insecure isn't like you." She held Sakura tight before letting go. "You're the most beautiful girl I know. Of course, you're good enough for him or dare I say you're way out of his league!" Sakura laughed a bit.
"Aren't you sweet?" She smiled at Aoi before she continued walking towards their lockers. "You're the one constantly getting love letters." She said as they reached their shoe lockers, and she looked surprised to see and envelope with a heart in their. "Aoi.. look."
"It's a love letter! Who's it from?" Aoi said excited, Sakura often got love letters but never from someone she cared for. Sakura opened the letter and sighed.
"It's another one from Natsuhiko Hyuuga." She folded up the letter and put it in her bag. She looked over at Aoi, who had a mischievous smile on her face.
"You liked him, don't you?" She asked, excited.
"Wha- no!" She replied a bit embarrassed and offended she would say that. "Where did you even get that idea from?"
"You rip everyone else's love letters up but his." Aoi replied as she began to walk away.
"Whatever." Sakura said as she followed Aoi away.
