"Mai bhi bohot ajeeb hu,
Itna ajeeb hu ki bas, khud ko tabah kar liya aur malaal bhi nhi"

That I self destructed and don't even regret it")

Chapter 1

"Siya, wake up, its 9 already." Someone shouted.

"9! Gosh I'm going to be late!" I threw up the cover at once and got up from my bed. I turned my eyes towards the watch for the confirmation and indeed it was 10 minutes past 9.

"Why did you not wake me up early Dina?" I said frustrated "and why did the alarm not work? Uggh!"
I took my clothes that I had already ironed and kept well in advance and ran towards the shower.

"Don't worry Siya. Everything is ready, all your documents, paper work and laptop has been arranged in the bag. You just have to get ready and go. You were working late night to complete your presentation so I thought it would be better for you to have some sleep" I heard Dina explain, "Or you might end up with drooping eyes during presentation" She chuckled.

"Yes, just a few minutes" I hurried.

Today was a big day for me. My first ever presentation after I was promoted to store manager at the south Delhi store of Dera cosmetics. I have to do well so that I do not let down the people who believed in me.
This place is rising in the industry of cosmetics and I somehow found myself working for one of the leading brands, Dera. God has given me everything.

I love my life!

Wrapping the towel around me, I dried my hair, put on some kajal and lip balm. Getting dressed, I found the lilac coat complementing me, accentuating my black eyes.
Dina, my roommate and someone whom I've grown to love like a sister, handed me the bag as I put on my red pencil heels.

"All the best darling! Don't be nervous, you'll do good" She planted a small kiss on my cheek and hugged me, something she always did when I was nervous.
I gave her a small but grateful smile and turned to leave.

As I stepped out in the scorching heat, I noticed my erratic heartbeat. Calming it down, I made my way to the taxi that was already waiting for me. Once again checking if I had everything, I drifted to all the details of my presentation.

20 minutes on the road, the "Dera cosmetics", written in Big capital letters at the top of the magnificent building that seemed to have been made up solely of glass, reflecting the sun rays back, shining, became visible.

I hurried inside, giving a small smile to the receptionist, who in turn had a big smile on her face.
The inside of the building was not any less spectacular. The floor was made up of infinite marble pattern and the walls were made up of glass, giving an additional view of the city from the top.

The elevator pinged, informing me that I've reached the 10th floor that only had a big conference hall, bathed in golden sunlight, casting a warm glow upon the walls which were painted in dull greyish-blue, calming the environment.

In the middle was a the conference table, the furniture giving a sense of timeless luxury. There, on the head chair, seated Vihaan Rajput, his father the owner of this giant firm. Soon he was going to succeed the position as his father has decided to retire.

At least I'm not late.

I scatter everything on the table, sitting beside Vihaan, taking a deep breath.

"Are you ready for today love?" Vihaan gave me a soft smile.

"Yes, as ready as I can be" I nervously chuckled.

"You look beautiful by the way" He winked at me, making me blush.

He was my boyfriend. Yes boyfriend. How? Don't ask me that question. He is such a lovely person, anyone would fall for him. I have no idea why he chose me but I'm glad. The most fun, loving, caring person with handsome looks, that is Vihaan Rajput.

Sharp at 10, the meeting began. Vihaan, the board members and the high officials, all sat across me. The profit, the sales and the ideas to boost our products, I laid everything in front of them as they nodded at my every point. An hour passed discussing the updates needed at my area.
Finally the meeting ended and everyone left.

"You did good love, lunch at 2, meet me at my car" he whispered before leaving, his lips nearly touching my ears, sending a shiver down my spine. I had passed my first big test, his approval was all that mattered.

Exiting the room with a big smile on my face, I heard a voice calling me
"Siya, here"
I turned to meet none other than my boyfriend's childhood best friend, Rita.

"How did it go?" She enquired.

"Good. I did not create a mess at least" I gave a forceful smile to which she chuckled. We started walking towards our working area. She was kind, her smiling face, too beautiful to go unnoticed. It has been nearly a month since she had returned from abroad. Knowing that her best friend has a "sane" girlfriend, as she called me, was a shocker for her. But I felt we three went with each other well.

"Lunch with me?" She suddenly asked, turning towards me.

I was bit taken aback by that as she had never asked me to have lunch with her. She always went outside with people, while I brought my own. Vihaan had already asked me and it has been quite a while in this busy schedule since we went out

Maybe she wanted to cheer me as well. That's it.

Pushing away my wandering thoughts I replied "Sorry not today, already taken" I put my hands up in surrender making an apologetic face.

"By Vihu I assume?" She added.

I did not like the way she called him Vihu, the sudden flicker of anger shown in her eyes, vanished as soon as it came, for a moment I thought I had imagined it.

You are thinking too much Siya, the reason behind all this imagination. You know her. She is far from interested in him. Just his best friend.

"Yep" I smiled.

She pouted "I was hoping for a day with you, but I guess not" She typed something on her phone then continued "Later then, I have to be somewhere"
She took off towards Vihaan's cabin

Leaving an unsettling feeling in me.
