His voice reverberated like thunder through the abyss, a symphony of torment and anguish that seemed to shake the very foundations of Tartarus itself. "Here I was, thinking you were completely useless," he sneered, his words dripping with malice. "But it seems you've proven yourself to be of some use after all. A daughter of..." He paused, a cruel laugh escaping his lips as he glanced at Jinx, causing her to flinch involuntarily.

"I see Aphrodite is up to her tricks again," he continued, his tone dripping with disdain. "No worries, though. They are too scared to even save you. Doesn't that hurt, knowing that you're nothing but a pawn in their little game?" His words cut through the air like a knife, each syllable laced with venom.

But Jinx refused to cower before her father's cruelty. With a courage born of desperation, she spoke up, her voice trembling but defiant. "Don't talk to her," she spat, her eyes blazing with determination. "I will not let you harm her."

Tartarus let out a deep, guttural growl, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. In an instant, an army of monsters materialized around him, their eyes gleaming with malice as they prepared to strike. Telkhines, dracaenae, cyclopes – an unholy alliance of creatures from the depths of Tartarus itself, all converging upon Jinx with deadly intent.

But Jinx stood her ground, her resolve unshaken even as the horde of monsters closed in around her. With a swift motion, she swung her scythe in a wide arc, the blade slicing through the air with deadly precision. The monsters fell like wheat before the scythe, their forms crumbling to dust as they met their end at Jinx's hands.

"I'm not the same Jinx you beat up for fun, father," she spat, her voice dripping with defiance. Each word was a dagger aimed at Tartarus' heart, each syllable a testament to her strength and resilience. "I've grown stronger, and I won't let you hurt anyone else."

Tartarus chuckled darkly, amusement flickering in his eyes as he regarded his daughter with a mix of disdain and curiosity. "Oh, really?" he said, his voice laced with mockery. "Would you like to test that theory, my dear?" His words hung in the air like a challenge, a dare for Jinx to prove herself against the might of a god.

But before Jinx could respond, Tartarus turned his attention to Lyric, his eyes narrowing with malice. "So, is that what she told you?" he taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "That I caused those scars?" Jinx felt her heart lurch in her chest, a cold dread settling in the pit of her stomach as Lyric's face fell.

With a surge of anger, Lyric gathered a mass of shadows in her hand, her eyes blazing with fury as she launched them at Tartarus. The god growled in frustration, dissipating the shadows with a wave of his hand as he swatted at them like flies.

But the confrontation was far from over. As Jinx and Tartarus locked eyes, a silent battle of wills raging between them, Lyric stepped forward, her voice trembling but resolute. "We won't let you hurt her," she vowed, her words a beacon of hope in the darkness of Tartarus' domain.

And as the battle raged on, with Jinx and Tartarus locked in a deadly dance of blades and shadows, Lyric stood by her friend's side, her determination unwavering as they faced their greatest challenge yet.

The campfire crackled softly, casting flickering shadows across the faces of the demigods gathered around it. Their expressions were grim, their thoughts weighed down by the absence of their friend, Lyric. Nine days had passed since she disappeared and with each passing moment, their worry deepened.
