Y/n stood in the doorway, watching as Alycia packed her bags for yet another work trip. The weight of impending separation hung heavy in the air, threatening to suffocate Y/n's heart with each passing moment.

Alycia glanced up, her expression softening as she noticed the tears welling in Y/n's eyes. "Hey, what's wrong?" she asked, setting aside her suitcase and crossing the room to wrap Y/n in a comforting embrace.

"It's just... I hate when you have to leave," Y/n confessed, their voice choked with emotion. "I miss you so much when you're gone."

Alycia's arms tightened around Y/n, offering a silent promise of love and reassurance. "I know, baby. I hate leaving you too," she murmured, pressing a tender kiss to Y/n's forehead. "But it's part of my job, and I promise I'll be back before you know it."

Y/n buried her face in Alycia's chest, inhaling the familiar scent of her perfume mingled with the faint aroma of laundry detergent. She wished they could freeze this moment in time, holding onto Alycia with every fiber of their being and never letting go.

As the minutes ticked by, Y/n's tears gradually subsided, replaced by a bittersweet acceptance of the inevitable. With one last lingering embrace, she reluctantly released Alycia from their grasp, watching as she gathered her belongings and headed for the door.

"Call me when you land, okay?" Y/n whispered, their voice barely above a whisper.

Alycia nodded, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I will. And remember, I love you more than anything," she vowed, her voice filled with unwavering devotion.

With a final wave, Alycia disappeared from view, leaving Y/n standing alone in the doorway, their heart heavy with longing. But as they gazed out at the world beyond, a glimmer of hope stirred within her, reminding them that distance could never diminish the bond they shared.

And so, with love as their guiding light, Y/n waited patiently for the day when Alycia would return to their arms once more, ready to chase away the shadows of loneliness and fill their world with warmth and joy once more.
