ISABELLA'S POV

---

As I made my way home from the café, the weight of the encounter with that man still heavy on my mind, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at me. But as I approached my grandmother's house, a sense of dread settled over me like a dark cloud.

"Grandma?" I called out, my voice trembling with apprehension.

There was no response. I pushed open the door and stepped inside, heart pounding.

"Grandma, are you here?"

Silence greeted me. With a sinking feeling, I headed to her bedroom.

"Oh, Grandma," I whispered, tears welling up as I saw her lying peacefully in her bed.

"You can't do this, you just can't grandma!" I continued as tears flowed out of my eyes
"Help!! someone help me!! Grandma..." I dropped my head on her body and came to the realization that she was gone
"Why grandma? Why did you have to leave me?? I'm just 21, I'm not strong enough, how do you expect me to cope in this world without you huh?? Answer me grandma!" I continued to cry. "I have no one now, only Sarah. God why?? Why did you have to take my grandma??" I shouted. I then covered her with the mattress and slept beside her body.
---

Weeks passed, and life slowly returned to normal. Although not completely normal, I was still being monitored by that guy in the cafe. I later learnt that his name is Marco and he's the greatest mafia boss in town. But then what does he want??; Amidst the routine of school, the memory Marco lingered, a constant source of fear and uncertainty.

"Isabella, are you okay?" My friend Sarah's concerned voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I forced a smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired."

"You've seemed off lately," Sarah said, studying me with a furrowed brow. "Is something bothering you?"

I hesitated, unsure how to explain the fear that gripped me. "It's nothing, really. Just some stuff going on at home."

Sarah nodded, understanding. "Well, if you ever need to talk, I'm here for you." She continued and planted a kiss on my forehead.

"Thank you Sarah"
"You're welcome but we need to get going now it's already late" she said and I nodded and with that, we went home.

---

Finally, graduation day arrived, a bittersweet reminder of how far I had come. As I walked across the stage to receive my diploma, a mix of emotions swirled within me.

"Congratulations, Isabella!" My classmates cheered as we tossed our caps into the air.

I smiled through my tears, grateful for their support. "Thanks, everyone. We did it!"

---

After the ceremony, I found myself alone, lost in thought. The future stretched out before me, uncertain and unknown.

"You did it, Isabella." A familiar voice brought me back to reality.

I turned to see Sarah approaching, a proud smile on her face.

"Yeah, I guess I did," I replied, a sense of accomplishment swelling within me.

Sarah hugged me tightly. "I'm so proud of you. You've overcome so much, and you're stronger than you know."

I felt tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. "Thanks, Sarah. I couldn't have done it without you."

---

As we stood there, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of graduation day, I realized that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I would face them head-on, with courage and determination.

As I made my way home from the graduation ceremony, a sense of accomplishment mingled with apprehension. The day had been filled with joy and celebration, but now, as I approached my doorstep, a feeling of unease settled over me.

I reached for the doorknob, my heart pounding in my chest. But before I could open the door, a knock echoed through the empty hallway.

Curiosity mingled with caution as I cautiously approached the door. "Who is it?" I called out, my voice trembling slightly.

"It's Marco," came the reply, sending a shiver down my spine.

I hesitated, unsure of what to do. But before I could make up my mind, the door swung open, revealing Marco and his men standing on the doorstep.

My heart skipped a beat as I took in their menacing presence. "What are you doing here?" I demanded, my voice betraying my fear.

Marco stepped forward, a cold smile playing at the corners of his lips. "We need to talk, Isabella. May we come in?"

I shook my head, taking a step back. "No, I don't want you here. Leave me alone."

But Marco's smile only widened. "I'm afraid that's not an option, Isabella. We have important matters to discuss."

Before I could protest, Marco and his men forced their way into the house, their imposing figures filling the small space.

"What do you want from me?" I demanded, my voice trembling with anger and fear.

"Oh my love, do you always have to be this rude??" He said caressing my cheeks

"I'm not, and I will never be your love!" I declared

Marco's smile faltered for a moment, replaced by a look of cold determination. "I'm here to inform you that we'll be getting married, Isabella. It's time for you to fulfill your duty as my wife."

I felt my blood run cold at his words. "I won't do it," I spat, my voice filled with defiance. "I won't marry you."

But Marco's eyes narrowed dangerously. "You don't have a choice, Isabella. You will do as I say, or there will be consequences."

I felt a wave of panic wash over me as I realized the gravity of the situation. "What do you mean? What consequences?"

Marco's smile returned, cold and calculating. "Let's just say that your friend Sarah might find herself in a very unfortunate situation if you don't comply." He said with a smirk.

My heart lurched at the mention of Sarah's name, a sense of dread settling over me like a heavy weight. I couldn't let anything happen to her.

"W-w-why are you doing this?? I whispered, defeated.

"You're mine Isabella, you always were" he said and my heart dropped.

"Now will you be a good girl and do as I say?? Or go with the consequences?" He asked keeping a very sweet face behind his evil doings.

"N- no i-ill do it... I'll marry you" I said bowing my head down.

Marco's smile widened at my capitulation. "Good. I'm glad we could come to an understanding, Isabella. Now take care of yourself my love. I'll be here tommorow morning to pick you up" he said with a smile and I nodded.

And with that, he and his men turned and left, leaving me standing alone in the empty house, my heart heavy with the weight of my decision.
