It was so sudden, even Morrowseer couldn't have guessed it! Well technically, he was never able to predict the future in the 1st place, but you get the point.
1 day, Sunny was her bouncy and excited self, but the next day she felt......woozy, like all the sunshine was sucked out of her!
"Maybe you should lay down." Tsunami suggested.
"No! I can't, I have to help out at the Academy!" Sunny protested, and she tried to get to the entrance of the healer's hut, but was forced into a Rainwing hammock by Starflight anyway.
"Fine, I'll rest!!!" Sunny yelled, feeling annoyed, but after a few minutes, she tried to get out of the Rainwing hammock again, but Starflight forced her back into it.
"I'll go get Jambu." Clay said as he left.
"I'll come with you." Starflight said as he left to follow Clay.
"And you need to rest. Starflight will be back in a couple of minutes to take care of you, so after he gets here, I'll be getting the Rainwing and Nightwing dragonets rounded up for a tour of Jade Mountain Academy, to see if they want to go there next year." Tsunami said and explained.
"Hmmm. Maybe we can try to get Sunny and Starflight together while they're alone?Mwhahahaha!" The Seawing Princess thought slyly.
Starflight bustled back into the room a couple minutes later, and sat down next to Sunny, and as that happened, Tsunami walked out of the room, but before she left, she whispered to Starflight, "Good Luck, you're going to need it!" Then she was out of the room before Starflight could ask why.
<><><><><>A Few Moments Later<><><><><>
"So......Sunny, do you think you're going to be alright?" Starflight asked
Sunny nodded, but looked pained while doing it. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd then Jambu crashed into the Healer's Hut, as if on cue to ruin the otherwise romantic moment. "Hi guys!" He said loudly, Starflight was so startled, he almost fell over!
"Hi, Jambu," Sunny said, face flushing.
**After an awkward silence, Jambu started diagnosing Sunny**
"Ok, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Sunny, it looks like you have dragon pox," Jambu said, turning a depressing shade of blue.
"What's 'dragon pox'? Sunny asked, looking concerned. Starflight was silent; and even though he knew what dragon pox was, he couldn't bring himself to tell Sunny, the dragon he loved most in life, what it was. But...she had to know.
"It's...it's...it's a kind of sickness." Starflight finally, but slowly said. "A disease from Dexfruit. The symptoms include dizziness, mood swings, hunger, and sleepiness." Then confirmed and listed the symptoms, "Don't worry, you won't die," Starflight added when he saw Sunny's frightened face. "But it's still not the best thing to have, and it might leave you paralyzed and..." Starflight trailed off, unable to finish his sentence.
"Is...is there a cure?" Sunny asked hopefully, her claws and tail twitching nervously.
"Ye...Yes, but it's in the Ice Kingdom," Starflight said, trying not to get Sunny's hopes too high up. "But it could take weeks or maybe even months to find." And finished, and as he said that, Jambu was nodding his head so much, it looked like it would topple right off.
"So......does that mean I have to wait it out? Cause if that's what you mean, then I have 2 questions: 1. How long will it take? And 2. If it's a long time, I can't stay here for that long, because—Who'd run the Academy? It can't be Tsunami, otherwise she might turn it into a soldier camp or something. No offense Starflight, but it can't be you, you're still getting used to being able to see again, also, you'll probably turn the whole school into a giant library or close it off every day—" Sunny rambled, but was interrupted by Starflight saying ⬇️
"And I need to take care of you so you can get better, and so you don't sneak away and make yourself worse"
"And I thank you for that. And it also can't be Fatespeaker, I don't know why, but I've got a bad feeling about putting her in charge. It also can't be Clay, cause he'll likely close the Prey Center just so he can eat all day every day, and we can't have no one be in charge, it'll be chaos! So, as you can see, literally, I have to go to the Academy, and run things!" Sunny finish, spluttering a little bit at the end.
"Okay, Sunny. But you also need to rest, it's for your own good. And, if you're at the Academy, you might get the others sick." Starflight said, being the smart 1, as usual.
"But Starry, you know how I feel about not being at the Academy!!!" Sunny said while trying—and failing—to get out of her Rainwing hammock again.
"Sun, you need to rest." Starflight said sternly. "It's not safe to be outside."
"Fine, but only for you." Sunny said as she agreed, tears pricking in her gray-green eyes, her brain feeling fuzzy and drowsy.
Starflight's face turned a shade of strawberry red. "Yeah, sure." He said, not sure what to do with that information. Jambu read the moment and clumsily, but silently, left the room.
After a few hours as the sun went down, Sunny said "Hey Starflight?" She waited until Starflight looked at her before continuing, saying—"Can you sleep with me tonight?"
"Sure." He said, then blushed after a moment to think about what he just agreed to. Then he grabbed 1 of the Rainwing beds and set it next to Sunny, lying down next to her, leaving only 2 feet of space between them. Sunny put her wing on top of Starflight, her grip soft and warm, kinda like a blanket.
"Don't forget your story, Sunny." Starflight said, pulling out a long scroll. It was a story Starflight had told Sunny many times while they were under the mountain, so it sent tears brimming in her eyes as bittersweet memories washed over her.
"Thanks Starry," Sunny said, lifting a claw to remove a tear falling down her face. "I needed that." But Starflight was already asleep.

A/N: Wow that took a long time, I know you guys think but it was just a short chapter, I know that feeling when I read your guy's stories, and I will never be able to read as fast as you guys can read this, but I promise, I'm trying my best, but I also don't work alone, well I do with my Nutcracker story, but that's the only 1!
